Moondance Jam

Moondance Jam is widely considered to be the top classic rock music festival in the United States. Its humble beginnings were in the early 1990s, and since it has turned into a full-blown classic rock celebration that is staged annually in the Leech Lake/Chippewa National Forest by Walker, Minnesota. It is a family-friendly environment that offers public facilities, general admission seating, lots of concessions, and the opportunity to camp.

Directions to Moondance Jam
The Moondance Jam grounds are located at the southwest of the intersection of Highways 371/200 and Route 34. They are situated in between Railroad Avenue to the north and Michigan Avenue to the south. There is a parking lot onsite, but it does cost a daily fee and can be purchased in advance.
Perhaps the best option to get to this festival is to park at the nearby Northern Lights Casino, which offers free parking as well as a free shuttle to the festival. The casino is located two and a half miles west of the festival grounds at the intersection of Highway 371 and 200.
Lodging near Moondance Jam
Although there are a select few Minnesota hotels in the outlying areas that require a pretty good drive, the preferred method is camping for this show. The land is picturesque and staying on the campgrounds keeps you in the middle of the action. There are water and electrical hookups as well as a range of public facilities.
