St Cloud Minnesota is also known as “Granite City” because of its prominence in stone finishing made possible because of the many area stone quarries. St Cloud is one of the first three settlements in Minnesota bordering the famous Mississippi River. Historical tours of St Cloud are popular and can be done by foot or by trolley. Tours include visits to the refurbished 1921 paramount Theater, Clemens Gardens and the Munsinger and Stearns History Museum. St Cloud Minnesota is a quaint city and a nice stop for enjoying a slower pace between larger cities.
