Branson

Even for those who have never traveled to Branson Missouri, the reputation for Branson Missouri attractions precedes itself.  Branson Missouri attractions couple outdoor fun with Las Vegas-style entertainment, and is perhaps the only place in the Midwest where travelers can see a glitzy show in the evening after golfing or swimming at the lake during the day.  Tucked cozily into the Ozark Mountains, Branson attractions continue to draw local and foreign visitors each year.

The city of Branson, Missouri was first name for its postmaster in the 1880, Rueben Branson.  Rueben also ran the city’s only general store, and for many years Branson was a tiny town.  It wasn’t until 1959, when the Baldknobbers Jamboree started rousing public attention and drew visitors from all around the area.  This was the beginning of the popular shows in Branson Missouri, and the shows remain one of the most popular Branson Missouri attractions to this day.  Many people also credit the 1907 novel, The Shepherd of the Hills with bringing attention to the city, as it was the first famous novel to be set in the Ozarks.

A play adapted from the novel is just one of the many shows in Branson Missouri.  Other shows in Branson Missouri include the Dixie Stampede Dinner & Show, the Incredible Acrobats of China, and a whole host of musical guests.  Although shows in Branson Missouri have featured country strictly country stars in the past, today shows in Branson Missouri feature all kinds of music.

Yet another of the popular Branson attractions are the three lakes found near the city.  Branson attractions around the lake include the numerous Branson lake cabins and condos available for rent throughout the year.  There are also plenty of resorts with luxury amenities, as well as access to golf courses, horse back riding, jet skiing and many other lakeside activities.

Silver Dollar City is also a great attraction in Branson Missouri.  This attraction in Branson Missouri features theme park roller coasters, water rides and more.  This attraction in Branson Missouri is also visited often because of the underground caves, known as Marvel Cave, which can be toured by visitors.
