The River City St Louis casino may not have a definitive opening date, but you can bet that when it does open to the public that it will likely be well received by those planning to include the St. Louis casinos in their visit. Pinnacle Entertainment Inc., which is based in Las Vegas, Nevada, broke ground on their River City hotel and casino project in 2005 and hopes to have it up and running by 2008 or early 2009. Pinnacle is also working on another St Louis casino, Lumiere Place, which they hope to have open by December 2007. These two casinos will not only bring the state of Missouri much in the way of added income, but will also help to make St. Louis a prime gambling destination in the heart of the Midwest.
Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. has casinos in Nevada, Indiana and Louisiana, and they also have a presence in Argentina, so it’s safe to assume that they are on the up and up on the current demands of the casino industry. The River City hotel and casino will be located in the community of Lemay, which lies at the south side of the city near the Mississippi River. While there’s always a percentage of detractors who don’t want a casino in their “backyard”, the community of Lemay, on a whole, is excited about River City and the added development that it will bring to the area. The project will create thousands of jobs, which helps to make it all the more well-received. River City St Louis will be almost a city in and of itself, complete with shopping, dining, entertainment and gaming options that will make it a prime destination not only reserved for gambling. The River City hotel and spa will provide luxury to guests looking for the full experience when looking for St Louis hotels. Pinnacle is investing some $375 million into their River City project with hopes to make it a “multi-faceted destination resort” worthy of attracting scores of St. Louis visitors.
St. Louis is definitely full of attractions, some of the more notable being the Gateway Arch, the Missouri Botanical Gardens and the Budweiser Brewery, but those who choose to stay at River City in the future might find it hard to remove themselves from the resort, as it will have enough on-premise activities to keep them more than busy. Of course no visit to St. Louis would be complete without including its most famed attractions on your St. Louis itinerary, and staying at River City only adds excitement to the mix. The River City casino will be as complete as any other in the area, with some 3,000 slot and poker machines and numerous table games. When you’re not trying your luck at the state-of-the-art casino, you can relax and pamper yourself at the River City full-service spa. As for dining, a list of casual and fine-dining establishments will more than satisfy your tastes, and after dinner you might consider taking in a movie at the River City multiplex movie theater.
St. Louis is a big hockey town, so you can bet that locals, as well as visitors, will enjoy the River City St Louis indoor ice rink, where you can fine tune your skating skills. Visitors can also practice other sports at the additional athletic fields that will adjoin the River City St Louis casino and hotel, and bowlers can throw strikes at the unique boutique bowling alley. Whether you are taking advantage of all that the River City hotel and casino has to offer, or simply hanging out in the area, the new public park should make for a nice place to have a picnic and relax with friends and family. The slated hatch-shell entertainment venue will be a great place to enjoy music concerts, and inside the River City casino, it’s safe to assume that there will plenty more in the way of shows and exciting nightlife. When River City and Lumiere Place are finished, St. Louis will certainly be giving Las Vegas a run for its money.
