If you are looking for a Nevada event that might make your trip more interesting, read on. Depending on the time of year that you are planning your trip, there will be a Nevada event that will surely satisfy every interest. For example, car-racing fans should plan to visit Battle Mountain, Nevada in August. Set aside some time to attend the Pony Express 130. This exciting Nevada event involves a 131.15 road rally. Do you prefer horses to horse-powered cars? The Reno Rodeo, which is held in June, is a fun-filled Reno Nevada event. Did you ever wish that you could participate in an authentic Western Cattle Drive? Your wish can come true at the Reno Rodeo Cattle Drive.

On October 31st, while most people are celebrating Halloween, Nevada is celebrating Nevada Day. This is one of the major Nevada holidays. It marks the day that Nevada was admitted into the Union in 1864. The event is celebrated by a number of parades and other festivities.

If you are planning your vacation for the Christmas season, Nevada holidays are celebrated to their full extent. The lights of Las Vegas become even brighter during the yuletide season. Sunset Park is set aglow with seven million spectacular glistening lights. The Ethel M Chocolates Factory and Cactus Garden features 500,000 lights as well as a number of unique chocolate sculptures. Opportunity Village's Magical Forrest is one of the major events in Nevada. Enjoy the lights, live entertainment, train and carousel rides, and visits to Santa Claus. Proceeds from the Magical Forrest event benefit vocational and social programs for the mentally and physically disabled.

During the holiday season, some of the major events in Nevada also happen in Reno. The Nevada holidays are celebrated in full force at the Reno River Holiday. This festive event features street performers, children’s activities, holiday crafts and a visit from Santa Claus. In Sparks, Hometowne Holiday Christmas is one of the major events in Nevada. It takes place on Victorian Square, and features llama parades, tree lighting, Christmas caroling and delicious food.
