Autumn in Las Vegas means warm - not hot - sunny days and plenty of time to sample the experiences that make this desert city one-of-a-kind. Once Labor Day arrives and summer has bid a fond adieu, there’s still plenty of time to enjoy Las Vegas. The schedule of events is jam packed with interesting things to do from the casinos and theaters to arenas and parks. This quarter of the years also brings one of the greatest party days on the calendar - Halloween. Then there's Thanksgiving when most people have some extra time off. It’s a great time to visit.
Las Vegas in September
Even though Labor Day signals the end of summer, it’s still three weeks before the season is actually over. September is still warm in Las Vegas, with temperatures averaging around 95 degrees, so there’s still plenty of time to hit those pool parties. The Hard Rock, where the tradition of pool parties began, continues its schedule through all of September into the first days of October. Nikki Beach at the Tropicana and Mandalay Bay’s Moorea Beach Club also keep the party going throughout September, so if you’re looking to add some fun in the sun to your getaway, this is your last chance until March to add a pool party.
There’s plenty going on beyond the pools during autumn in Las Vegas. The calender of events includes the start of college football. Many of the games’ top teams come to face the Rebels at UNLV’s Sam Boyd Stadium, and the fans come to watch the action and tailgate. At Freedom Park, there’s a grand celebration for Mexican Independence Day with plenty of good food and music to enjoy. This month also brings Blue Sky International Film Festival, the largest film festival in the state of Nevada and a lot of fun for movie lovers.
Las Vegas in October
Certainly the biggest day in October arrives the last day of the month with Halloween in Las Vegas. If the 31st falls during the week, many of the clubs and restaurants host special events on the weekend before and the weekend after. Of course, this is Las Vegas, so there’s a party going on any time you want to go. The biggest and best attended party is the Fetish & Fantasy Ball. This over-21 party features outlandish costumes and an after-party that keeps the fun going along with an adult entertainment convention. Other Halloween Las Vegas events take place at the top nightclubs at resorts up and down the Strip during autumn in Las Vegas.
There are 31 days in October and Halloween is just one of them. Earlier in the month, you’ll find a ton of cool things to do whatever your interest. Right away, the fun kicks off with a family-friendly Oktoberfest celebration in downtown Las Vegas’ Centennial Park.
Las Vegas in November
It does slow down bit once November rolls into Las Vegas, but a slow day in Sin City is still cooler than most other places. Autumn in Las Vegas is a great time to catch one of the headline concerts like Barry Manilow, Bette Midler, or Celine Dion before the holidays start to take over the schedule. A visit to Las Vegas over Thanksgiving is a great alternative to the same old turkey dinner with the family. Those fabulous buffets will have turkey for those of you who need your fix.
One of the biggest conventions of the year takes place in November. When Comdex arrives in mid-Novembers, thousands of IT professionals come to Las Vegas to talk trade and have some fun along the way.
