The Beatles LOVE show is one of a kind. Though you don't have to be a huge fan of the most celebrated band in the history of rock and roll, it certainly helps. The widespread appeal of the band is certainly what sells tickets, though seeing the "Cirque du Soleil" attached to the production probably doesn't hurt.
This Beatles Vegas show is quite unlike the other Cirque du Soleil shows, anyway. It has none of O's aquatics, none of KA's intensity, none of Zumanity's eroticism - it is more of a tribute to the lasting nature of Beatlemania than anything else. What began as collaboration between Cirque du Soleil and George Harrison has spawned a Beatles Las Vegas show that is immense in proportions and entertainment value. A swirling journey through the psychedelia of the 60s, complete with historical and political references of the time, the show has carried on under the guidance of the remaining Beatles - so much so that George Martin, the group's famed producer throughout their career continues on in his role, as he is the musical director of the Beatles LOVE production.

Playing at the Mirage Las Vegas, a casino well known for luxury and ambiance, the Beatles Vegas show only adds to the hotel's high pedigree. Though most of the band's songs are inherently memorable, the Beatles Mirage is not just a showcase for their greatest hits. Both McCartney and Starr were consulted on the setlist, and they've thrown in a couple of lesser known songs for their real fans. Regardless, it's the biggest hits that seem to be the biggest crowd pleasers.
Guests who have seen other Cirque du Soleil shows might be surprised by the Beatles LOVE show. Missing the overwhelming theatrics that are common in their other productions, the Beatles Las Vegas show is closer to a nostalgic trip back to the height of the group's popularity more than a sort of acrobatic/gymnastic production, it's more of a traditional song and dance venture. There is also a pointed attempt to connect with a younger generation here - the Beatles Vegas show features a few instances of extreme sports such as in-line skating, as well as dance moves more in step with today's hip-hop videos than the Fab Four.
Beatles Las Vegas runs every week, Thursday through Monday, with a few assorted dates blacked out throughout the year.
Over 35 years after their demise, there is little new that can be said about the Beatles. Easily the most documented musicians in history, the group burst onto the American scene in 1964 and never looked back. With hit after hit, the Beatles ruled the top of the charts until their dramatic separation 7 years later. Their influence and importance to the world of music cannot be understated, as they churned out successive albums that redefined the limits of rock and roll. "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", "Revolver",and "The White Album" contain masterfully written pop and it's a pleasure to see these classic songs mixed with the bombast and ethereal qualities that the Cirque du Soleil company brings to the proceedings. LOVE is above all a tribute to the greatest band of all time, produced and directed with the loving hand that only a true fan could have. It's really no wonder that LOVE was created with the blessings of both Paul and Ringo.
