Cirque Du Soleil

Cirque Du Soleil
Beatles LOVE | Elvis | KA | Mystere | O | Zumanity

When you consider that Cirque du Soleil was founded by two past street performers, it only makes perfect sense.  Part mimes, part gymnasts, part magicians and 100% entertainers, the Cirque du Soleil performers, and the spectacles that they put on around the world, are visually stunning.  Go to see a Cirque du Soleil show and it is something that you will not soon forget, if ever.  Cirque du Soleil, meaning “Circus of the Sun” in French, was hatched from the minds of Montreal, Quebec performers, Guy Laliberté and Daniel Gauthier, and since its conception in the 1980's, it has seen growing success, either visiting or setting up shop in some of the biggest cities and vacation destinations around the world.  As Las Vegas is often hailed as, “The Entertainment Capital of the World”, it only seems fitting that Cirque du Soleil would have a presence in Sin City.  Well, there are currently five different Cirque du Soleil Las Vegas shows that you can catch on a Las Vegas vacation, and in the near future, the one and only Elvis will serve as the inspiration for a new show at the new MGM City Center on the Las Vegas Strip.

Cirque Du Soleil Mystere The Cirque du Soleil shows are among the best rated Vegas shows, and they are presented in some of the most exclusive Las Vegas Casinos.  If it’s “classic Cirque du Soleil” you’re after, then “Mystére” at Treasure Island is one of the first shows you should consider.  Mystére was the first installment of Cirque du Soleil Las Vegas shows, debuting in 1993.  In this show, its all about the soaring acrobatics and the dazzling imaginative effects that Cirque du Soleil is known for.  The basic idea of the show is that life is inherently mysterious, and characters include a misguided clown and a list of weird and curious creatures.  Over 70 performers make up the cast for Mystére, and it has received the honor of “Best Production Show in Las Vegas” eight times.  Often considered as one of the pioneering influences in the development of Las Vegas entertainment as we know it now, Mystére will impress guests of all ages.

Cirque Du Soleil O Another of the Cirque du Soleil shows to be awarded the title of “Best Production Show in Las Vegas”, is “O”, which has garnered the distinction two years in a row.  “O”, is performed at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino, and it’s unique employment of water makes it like no other show you’ll find anywhere else.  A tribute to the theater and theatrical magic, “O” honors the beauty of the theater, be it a simple street performance, or an extravagant opera.  Performing both in and out of the water is a cast of 81 performers, including swimmers, divers and acrobats.  The fire act and Mongolian contortionists should be enough to peak your interest.  If you want Cirque du Soleil tickets for these two popular shows, they can be ordered online and reservations can be made up to four months in advance.

Cirque Du Soleil Zumanity While Mystére, “O” and most of the Cirque du Soleil shows are intended for all ages, there is one that is reserved exclusively for adults.  That show is “Zumanity”, which plays at the New York, New York Casino.  Love, perhaps moreover sensuality, is the main idea around this show, which is ideal for lovers, or anyone who reveres the power of love in general.  A certain bit of naughtiness permeates throughout Zumanity, which features 50 of the flirtiest performers you’ll find in town.  As much of a burlesque show as it is a cabaret number, the erotic movements and acrobatics of Zumanity will surely have you hot under the collar and willing to shuck a few of your inhibitions soon after.  Cirque Du Soleil Ka If nothing else, the show is guaranteed to be a most memorable one.  If Zumanity is a bit too sexy for your taste, or if you are with the kids, then you may prefer to see the two remaining Cirque du Soleil Las Vegas shows, “KÁ”, and “The Beatles - Love”.  You can catch KÁ at the MGM Grand, and The Beatles - Love plays at the Mirage.  KÁ is ideal for all ages, and may be the perfect fit for younger audience members.  It tells the story of twins who were separated, but share a like destiny.  The idea for the story has its roots in an Egyptian belief which deems that every human being has a “ka”, or a duplicate spirit that accompanies him or her through life.  Cirque Du Soleil Beatles Love In KÁ, fire and other special effects will impress the eyes, and the signature Cirque du Soleil acrobatics are enhanced with martial arts and puppetry.  The Beatles - Love Cirque du Soleil show may be most ideal for Beatles fans, but it won’t leave anyone out.  After all, whether you are a big fan, or a small one, the Beatles music is familiar and classic.  You can learn more about The Beatles - Love show in the attached article.

At the Luxor you'll be amazed by the illusions at the Criss Angel Believe show. This is no ordinary magic show. Criss atempts some of the most intense and daring magic tricks known to man. Setting to hit the stage with jaw dropping illusions, you'll have to see it to believe it. Be sure you book your Criss Angel tickets in advance as these seats will go quickly.

As mentioned before, in the near future, one more show will join the list of Cirque du Soleil Las Vegas shows and it will be inspired by the music and career of Elvis Presley.  The Elvis show will play at the new MGM City Center Hotel Casino when it opens in 2009.  It should mirror the Beatles show in many regards and what is Las Vegas without Elvis’s memory lurking about?  You can showtimes and Cirque du Soleil tickets online, and you can make reservations for when you’re in town up to four months in advance.  The Cirque du Soleil tickets for the Las Vegas shows range in price from $60-$150 for adults, and there are discounted Cirque du Soleil tickets for children for KÁ.  There are ways to find discount Las Vegas show tickets, generally as part of a Las Vegas vacation package.  You can also buy Cirque du Soleil tickets at the respective casino box office for your show of choice, but if you wait until you get there, the show might already be sold out.  Regardless of how you get your tickets for a Cirque du Soleil show, you’ll be glad you did.
