The most celebrated icon in the city's growing history, few images are as symbolic of the city's great power as Elvis' shimmering white jumpsuit. The city gave Elvis a second chance with his career, and the Elvis Show Las Vegas at the Sahara proves that his untimely death has had little effect on the power of the music he recorded before he passed away.

Las Vegas is littered with tributes to the great singer, from American Superstars to Legends in Concert to myriad off-strip productions featuring the songs of the King - but they all pale in comparison to the effect of the Las Vegas Elvis Show called "The Musical History of the King." Famed Elvis impersonator Trent Carlini brings his significant talents to the Las Vegas Elvis Show - not only a moving tribute but also one of the premiere live shows in Las Vegas. Disappearing into the singer's larger than life oeuvre, Carlini recreates many of Elvis' greatest hits, from his early days in Tennessee all the through the twilight of his career as the Strip's greatest entertainer. One of the most energetic live shows in Las Vegas, it is nicely broken up by video montages - from Carlini expositing on the joy and honor that comes with impersonating the King, to vintage footage of the real Elvis's live shows in Las Vegas (both on stage and behind the scenes), these short interruptions make the homage even more powerful. Carlini's extraordinary accuracy in his portrayal of the King is impressive, even when it is being compared and contrasted with film of Elvis himself.

The Elvis Las Vegas show: "The Musical History of the King" runs everyday but Sunday, at 9pm at the Sahara Theater. For the King's greatest fans, it's definitely a must-see.

It was his early recordings that helped birth Rock and Roll, and his influence can be felt throughout the music world, even today. And the Elvis Las Vegas show just drives the point home, despite dying over 25 years ago, tributes to the singer sell out on a regular basis, uniting King fans both young and old.

Trent Carlini is well known as one of the best Elvis impersonators of all time. He has appeared on Letterman, Leno and Oprah and won the Las Vegas Visitors Choice Award two years in a row. He perfected his role in this Las Vegas Elvis show as the former headliner at the Legends in Concert.

Elvis helped birth Rock and Roll, and his influence can be felt throughout the music world, even today.
