Golf Resorts in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is one of the top names when it comes to American golf courses. Taking full advantage of the scenery, borrowed from both the sparse desert and the Red Rock Mountains, golf resorts in Las Vegas have flourished for decades. The outskirts of the city are rife with 18 hole golf courses, including Shadow Creek, a masterpiece of a golf course, and the wildly popular Desert Pines Golf Club. Most of these Las Vegas golf resorts have some kind of deal brokered with certain hotels on the strip, since most of the best golf courses reside in North Las Vegas or the neighboring city of Henderson. Watch lizards skitter across the greens and take in the fresh desert air before sending a ball 250 yards down an immaculately kept fairway. People come from all over the country to visit Las Vegas golf courses.

But as far as strictly golf resorts Las Vegas only has a couple. The JW Marriott, located away from the strip, is the original and the best when it comes to Las Vegas golf resorts. Adjacent to the lavish hotel, the JW Marriott Golf Course offers eighteen holes of pristine quality, designed and operated by some of the most innovative golfing minds in Sin City. As far as golf resorts in Las Vegas, there's nothing above the Marriott.

The Wynn Las Vegas also has a golf course located nearby. It doesn't really bill itself as one of the Las Vegas Golf Resorts - but since it is run by Wynn, you know exactly what kind of high-grade quality you are getting well before you step onto the links. Steve Wynn wasn't happy with owning and funding the $2.7 billion Shadow Creek so he added another golf course to his signature hotel, and golfing enthusiasts everywhere rejoiced.

Golf resorts in Las Vegas rarely tie both the casino and course together, it's a lot easier to just grab your clubs and stay on the strip. Three hotels have special golf vacation packages set up with two of the most popular courses in the greater Las Vegas area - Desert Pines and Stallion Mountain. Guests staying at Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo or the MGM Grand can get heavily discounted rates at these locations, and set you up with a "stay and play" package where one tee time per day is included in your room bill.

So grab your clubs and head down to the Marriott or the Wynn - or if you don't mind a short cab or shuttle ride, your options for Las Vegas golf resorts are endless.
