Show Description

The Jubilee show in Las Vegas has 1000 different costumes used in the production. 8000 miles of sequins make their appearance onstage during Jubilee Las Vegas.

The mountainous set and rotating wardrobe changes are what sets the Jubilee Show in Las Vegas apart from the many other shows in Las Vegas. And along with the Folies Bergere at the Tropicana, no two shows are quite as emblematic of the stylized Vegas showgirl productions - everything here is gleefully overdone, from the ubiquitous rhinestones adorning the girls to the massive dance numbers to the imposing sets that provide an impressive backdrop for the whole scene.

The logistics of the whole program must have been a nightmare for the developers of the Jubilee Las Vegas show. Though entertaining little musical numbers, complete with soul-rattling drumming, acrobats and contortionists, do a little to break up the mammoth dance numbers, there seems little time for anyone involved in the production of the Las Vegas Jubilee show to catch their breath. One scene is a dramatic recreation of the biblical relationship between Samson and Delilah. A short time later, the Titanic is sinking onstage. The finale involves a ridiculously long staircase full of showgirls, a whirlwind of top hats and exposed skin.

The set changes come fast and furious, but the transitions are seamless. Or maybe it's the sight of topless women that causes enough distraction for the audience. That's the other trademark of the Jubilee Show in Las Vegas, as it employs almost one hundred different dancers, and pretty much each one loses their top at some point during the proceedings.

Unlike Folies Bergere and some of the other showgirl productions in the city, however, the Las Vegas Jubilee show is topless only (even the early shows) - so no one under the age of 18 is allowed inside the Jubilee! Theater. There are two nightly performances, at 7:30 and 10:30, though the show goes dark on Friday evenings. Be sure to check the schedule of Las Vegas shows.

Show Biography

The 1981 saw the inception of Jubilee. It was created under the direction of Donn Arden, a veteran behind the scenes of some of the city's earliest showgirl productions, including "Lido de Paris," which helped usher in the widespread popularity of adult-themed shows. The past twenty five years have been good to Jubilee in Las Vegas, as it has been dubbed "World's Best Showgirls" by authorities such as the Travel Channel and the BBC.

It is estimated over nine million people have made their way into the aisles for a performance of Jubilee - a classic that continues to reinvent itself with each new show.
