Entertainment in Las Vegas

Entertainment in Las Vegas
Entertainment Tips | Family Vacation | Hotel Attractions

Las Vegas is known for the exciting Vegas entertainment shows. You’ll want to catch at least one show, but to get the most out of entertainment in Las Vegas, here are a few tips to use on your next trip to the “Strip”:

Lounge shows:

If it’s too expensive or all the headliner shows are sold out, catch a lounge act at any one of the casinos on or off the strip. Vegas is the Lounge Capital of the World, so you are likely to find a good show either swinging in the cabaret at Orleans or sipping a cocktail among the palms at the Mirage. The Bar at Times Square in New York-New York has a unique dueling pianos show nightly, free during the weekdays and with a cover charge on weekends and holidays. So if you are looking for the free entertainment Las Vegas has to offer, almost all of these lounge acts are worth a look.

Free shows:

For more of the free entertainment Las Vegas offers, you can find a few free shows. Rio's Masquerade Village has the Show in the Sky. This is pure Vegas entertainment with live music, singing, dancing, stilt walkers and colorful costumes. You can also find the Purple Reign Prince tribute at the Monte Carlo or numerous Karaoke bars where you can be the lounge singer and make your own entertainment in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Tickets:

The free entertainment Las Vegas has to offer may be good, but the way to go is the true headliner Las Vegas production. Many complain that Vegas shows are too expensive, but most of them are worth it. Buy the tickets in advance, as entertainment in Vegas is in high demand and many shows sell out, especially during busy holiday weekends. If a show is sold out, you might still be able to get tickets. You can check with the venues’ ticket office the day of the event for unclaimed tickets, which might become available.

Other Show tips:

A lot of entertainment in Vegas has general admission tickets, it’s a first come first served seating order, so arrive early for the best view.

If you are on a budget but still wan to take in some cool Vegas entertainment shows, try to get limited view seats. Some shows on the strip will offer these tickets. Keep in mind your view will be blocked at certain times during the show, so you do get what you pay for.

Drinks at the shows can be some of the priciest on the strip. Unless there is a minimum drink order required (check in advance with the box office to make sure so you have the cash or credit card ready), you might want to go take up some gambling in the casino and get your free drinks before you head out to the headliner show.

It is very hot in Las Vegas, but the inside of venues tend to have the air conditioning blasting. So whenever you head out to enjoy the entertainment in Las Vegas, bring a back-up jacket or sweater so you don’t freeze!
