Tropicana Las Vegas

The Tropicana Resort is located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, and though it is one of the longer established hotels, it underwent a large-scale renovation in 2010 that ensures it is also be one of the most modern. The Tropicana’s transformation is inspired by the style South Beach, and the changes include a redesign of most of the property. The changes include new best-in-class rooms and suites, a new casino, 60,000 square feet of meeting space, and a tropical pool, along with new bars and restaurants, race and sports book, and a poker room. The new Tropicana boasts a vibrant, exciting atmosphere, with the sultry ambience of a night out in Miami or Havana—it's a unique way to experience a Las Vegas vacation.

Over the years, the palatial complex at the Tropicana Resort has become a major Vegas landmark. The 1,375 best-in-class Tropicana rooms are divided into the Paradise Tower and the Club Tower, which together include a Presidential Suite, Grand Suites, Lofts, Deluxe Rooms, and more. All of the rooms are bright, fresh, and comfortable. The color palette includes warm sunset shades, and natural light is abundant. The rooms feature one king-size or two queen-size ultra-plush beds, a 42-inch flat-screen plasma television, a work desk or chaise lounge, an iHome clock radio, and wireless internet. The bathroom features are also high-class, including Kohler sinks and curved shower rods, and the rooms are adorned with works by the acclaimed Argentine artist Aldo Luongo. The Beach Club, which is scheduled to open in 2012, will feature three Parlor Suites, 280 Deluxe Rooms, and a total of 283 Beach Club Rooms and Suites.

The pool at the Tropicana has always been one of the best known pools in Vegas, and the updated version is no different—it was recently voted the best Las Vegas pool. The pool area covers a total of 4.2 acres, and the grounds feature private waterfalls, lush landscaping, and private lounge areas, all in the style of the resort's South Beach theme. Recliners and lounge chairs are located poolside, but if you’re looking to spend your full days at the pool, you can also rent a cabana, which provides chilled towers and a break from the sun, as well as fresh fruit and other snacks, and bottle service. There’s even a private island, Leblon Cove, located in the center of the pool, which includes its own lounge spots and a bar with excellent cocktails.

Tropicana Casino

The casino at the Tropicana Resort Las Vegas features a wide variety of slot and table games, amid 50,000 square feet of gambling space. There are more than 800 slot machines, a High Limit area with Blackjack and Midi Baccarat tables, in addition to the Poker Room and the Race and Sports Book. The Trop Plus Players Club has special offers and VIP discounts, plus a reimbursement of up to $200 on slots losses on the day you sign up.

Tropicana Dining

The restaurant options at the Tropicana Hotel Las Vegas include Biscayne Steak, Sea & Wine, which specializes in exactly what you think it would – steaks and seafood, accompanied by fine wines; South Beach Marketplace, with great fast food and the first Starbucks on the Strip; a yogurt and gelato café, a pizza and deli; and Bacio by Carla Pellegrino, serving fine Italian cuisine by the celebrated chef. There are also a number of bars and lounges.

Bagatelle Beach & Nightclub

The new Bagatelle Beach & Nightclub, which kicks off its new venue Memorial Day 2012 is the site of daily entertainment and dining. The restaurant will be serving Mediterranean cuisine and champagne during the afternoons, with daybed lounges and beach activities. During the evenings, there will be poolside dining and diners have access to the indoor nightclub that featuring famous disc jockeys.

Tropicana Shows

Look for the lively finalist group from “America’s Got Talent,” Recycled Percussion, performing Thursdays through Tuesdays. For this great show, audience members receive a drumstick and instrument to accompany the group. The sizzling celebrity dancers of “Dancing With the Stars” begin a 12-week run at the Tropicana Las Vegas in mid-April. The Laugh Factory Las Vegas, located on the Mezzanine level of the Paradise Tower, showcases a line-up of hilarious comedians with daily shows. Famed magician Murray headlines daily shows beginning April 30. And the popular Mob Experience Las Vegas has re-launched with even more inside information on the country’s most notorious mobsters. There is also live entertainment in the Ambhar Lounge just off the hotel’s casino.

Biscayne

The Biscayne restaurant serves beautiful steaks and top-notch fish and seafood dishes, all prepared with a unique twist. There is also the Wine Wall, which features more than 500 bottles of fine wine, from Amarone to Zinfandel. Biscayne is open from 5 pm to 10 pm on Sunday, Monday, and Thursday, and from 5 pm to 11 pm on Friday and Saturday; it is closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
