In Las Vegas, Nevada, the list of things to do runs pretty long.  Aside from gambling, visitors to the Vegas Strip can enjoy world-class shopping and dining opportunities and take a unique Las Vegas tour.  During the day, tourists can relax at a resort pool, get a spa treatment or recover from the night before.  As day gives way to night, the Vegas nightlife scene heats up.  Live shows, fine dining and clubbing are part of the highly sought after Vegas nightlife, but why shouldn’t bowling be an option too?  Well, now it is.  At the Rio Resort and Casino, you can find Lucky Strike Lanes.  Both hip and exciting, the Lucky Strike bowling lanes experience is quite unlike the traditional bowling atmosphere you’ll find elsewhere.  Las Vegas bowling should have that something extra, after all, and at the new Rio bowling alley, you notice that something extra as soon as you walk in the door.

The Lucky Strikes Lanes Rio bowling alley opened with a bash on March 15, 2007.  Since then, it’s been attracting Las Vegas tourists who want to include bowling among their Las Vegas activities.  The Lucky Strike Lanes manager sums the place up by explaining that this is not the kind of bowling alley that your grandfather was accustomed to.  During the day, the mood is fairly light, and guests can enjoy lunch at the full-service restaurant while bowling on one of ten lanes.  At night, however, the mood changes.  Those under 21 are not permitted to hang around after 9 p.m., when the lights dim, the lanes light up under the black lights and the music is turned up.  At this hip Rio bowling alley, the experience is quite unlike any other.  Relax on an ultra-comfortable leather couch as you wait your turn to throw.  Belly up to the bar when it’s time for a drink, or stay at your lane and take advantage of the pricy, yet convenient bottle service.  Hopefully, you’ll be throwing strikes, but if your game has gone south, you can always jam out to the DJ-spun hits.

The Lucky Strike bowling lanes are state-of-the-art, as is the whole facility.  Large, projection televisions bring you all your sporting games or updates, or you can play your favorite tv show while you bowl.  As you check your screen from time to time to follow your score, you’ll notice one of the cooler features of the Lucky Strike Las Vegas bowling experience.  A computer program is in place to tell you how many miles per hour you are averaging on your throws.  While interesting, you could see where this might lead to a couple of arguments over manhood.  With the technology they have in place, Lucky Strike Lanes management sees to it that all you need to worry about is grabbing a drink and some food and having a good time.  You don’t have to worry about putting your name in or anything like that.  It’s all taken care of for you.

The unique brick and retro-rich decor at the Lucky Strike Rio bowling alley add extra flavor to your bowling experience, and from the outside of the casino, passersby can see inside the one glass wall to witness the fun they are missing out on.  Rent a lane by the game, or by the hour and hang out for a bit before or after gambling, or maybe as a lead in to taking in the Rio Penn and Teller magic show.  If the lanes are full when you arrive, you can always pass the time as you wait for your turn by grabbing a bite to eat at the 156-seat restaurant, where unique snacks, creative dishes and classic favorites make up the menu.  Of course, you can idle away at the Lucky Strike Rio bowling alley bar.  Decked out from top to bottom, the bar seats up to 25 people and features large, flat screen televisions.  Lucky Strike Lanes offers a fun Las Vegas bowling experience where you can relax and just have fun.  It is open daily from 11 a.m. until 3 a.m.  As mentioned, after 9 p.m. all guests must be at least 21 years old to if they want to get in.  At night, the Lucky Strike Rio bowling alley asks that you wear fashionable attire.  Tennis shoes, men’s tank tops, sports jerseys and athletic wear are not permitted after 9 p.m.
