Seeing Mariah Carey in Las Vegas was a notion converted into reality when it was announced that the iconic chanteuse will be headlining on the Vegas Strip. The Colosseum at Caesars Palace sets the stage for the shows, which are titled "MARIAH #1 TO INFINITY." May 6, 2015 was the first date for the Mariah Carey Las Vegas performances, which will showcase all 18 of the artist’s number one songs, as well as fan-favorite cuts, some never-before-performed songs and other musical surprises.
Mariah Carey burst onto the scene in 1990 with her self-titled studio album, Mariah Carey. Featuring such hits as “Vision of Love” and “Someday,” this album topped the Billboard 200 for eleven consecutive weeks and was certified platinum nine times by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Many more hits followed, including “One Sweet Day,” which was recorded with Boyz II Men and was featured on the 1995 album, Daydream. This song has the impressive distinction of being the longest-running number one song in U.S. chart history. It held that lofty position for 16 weeks. During her spectacular career, Mariah Carey has managed to put herself among the best-selling artists of all time, selling more than 200 million records. A true diva with a five-octave vocal range, she now embarks on a new endeavor in the Entertainment Capital of the World, and all signs point to continued success.
Showtimes for the Mariah Carey Las Vegas performances are 8 PM on Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday nights. Tickets start at $100 (plus tax and fees) and can be ordered in advance.
