Anyone
with a television or internet connection in the past few
years has been unable to miss out on the controversy surrounding
Michael Jackson, but it is exactly this controversy that
may lead to a Michael Jackson show in Las Vegas. A company
called Colony Capital has bought out the loan on the infamous
Neverland Ranch, which means Jackson now owes Colony Capital
$23 million in debt. This is where the Michael Jackson
Vegas show comes in—Colony Capital owns the Las
Vegas Hilton as well as a major share of the Station
Casinos, which includes popular locals spot Red
Rock Casino. What better way to repay a loan than
to put the King of Pop back on stage?
While there is currently no guarantee of a Michael Jackson
show in Las Vegas, talks are in progress for repayment
options and the Michael Jackson Las Vegas idea is on the
table. Venues could range from casino concert space to
even a nightclub. Like other
acts and shows that have made the transition to Vegas
headliners (Celine Dion, Elton
John, or even the musical Phantom
at the Venetian), it’s
certain that the already glitzy pop star would be further
glitzed into a ninety-minute show in the Las Vegas fashion.
Controversial recent history or not, a Michael Jackson
Las Vegas show would be incredible and perhaps a perfect
fit for Sin City. Michael Jackson tickets everywhere tend
to go quickly, as will tickets for this show if it becomes
reality. Keep an eye out and get your Michael Jackson
tickets early!
