Show Description:
Long before it came to the Paris Hotel in Vegas to amuse scores of audience members, “The Producers” comedy-musical show had already taken the world by storm in New York City years before, and subsequently in London.  Critically acclaimed and well-received by most who have seen it, “The Producers” musical show is a take off of the Mel Brooks film of the same name, which was released in 1968.  In The Producers Las Vegas shows, Tony Danza takes on the lead role as Max Bialystock, and is he ever up to the task.  A show like no other, The Producers is certain to make you laugh.  That is unless your funny bone happens to be broken.

If you haven’t already seen “The Producers” and are wondering about the plot for The Producers Las Vegas shows, the story is the unchanged timeless classic.  It involves a sketchy, some would say crooked, producer named Max who is working in cahoots with his nervous accountant Leo to pocket the money that investors are dumping into a new theater show.  Many of these investors are little, old ladies who the two are attempting to scam for profit.  Their goal is to find a script so bad that the show will close after just one night.  They end up contracting a Nazi playwright for the job, which is obviously ridiculously humorous.  It is also their intention to hire the worst director they can find, and so they hire a cross-dressing, gay diva named Roger DeBris.  Subsequent complications arise, however, when the show turns out to be a huge success.

The Producers Las Vegas show’s humor is certainly accessible to most who see it.  Tony Danza, as mentioned before, plays the lead role of Max Bialystock,.  Leo Bloom, the anxiety-ridden accountant, is played by Larry Raben, and Leigh Zimmerman plays the part of the seductive Swedish secretary named Ulla.  The flamboyantly gay director, who will have you almost falling out of your chair with laughter, is played by Lee Roy Reams.  Raben, Zimmerman and Reems had played their respective parts on Broadway at some point before joining The Producers Las Vegas shows, as had Tony Danza.  Simply put, you should see “The Producers” at least once in your life.  The Producers Las Vegas shows are the only permanent production of the hit currently running in America and The Producers Las Vegas tickets are among the most in-demand among all the Las Vegas shows.  USA Today has deemed “The Producers” as, “....simply the funniest thing ever seen on a stage”.  While The Producers Las Vegas shows might cost a bit more than some of the other Las Vegas shows that you might be considering, USA Today labels it as providing, “more bang for your buck than any other musical comedy”.  That’s a pretty big statement.  So grab your The Producers Las Vegas tickets and see what all the rave is about.

Tickets for The Producers Las Vegas shows can be bought online or at the Paris Hotel box office. Showtimes are 8 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays, with two shows at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturdays.  This 90-minute adaptation of the original Broadway musical is sure to make you chuckle.

Artist/Show Biography:

Mel Brooks developed the book for the stage production of “The Producers” after he was advised to do so by the famous record mogul, David Geffen.  On April 19, 2001, the original Broadway production of the hit movie opened to crowds at the St. James Theatre, where it ran until April 22, 2007.  Key performers in the New York show’s early run were Nathan Lane, who played Max Bialystock, and Matthew Broderick, who played the part of Leo Bloom. On Broadway, “The Producers” went on a run that saw some 2,500 shows entertain the masses.  Throughout the years, the show won 12 Tony Awards.  This unprecedented accrual of the business’s highest award broke the 37-year record of 10 Tony Awards, which went to “Hello, Dolly!”.   “The Producers” New York show also broke a box-office record, setting the highest single-day gross in history, with $3 million worth of tickets sold.  Consequently, when Broderick and Lane returned to the show in 2003 after leaving, it would break that record again, taking in over $3.5 million in ticket sales for one day.  In 2002, two different touring companies had taken the successful show on the road, amassing stunning sales numbers of their own.  In a Los Angeles production, Jason Alexander and Martin Short were among the cast members for part of the show’s run.  “The Producers” would play in London from November 9, 2004 through January 6, 2007.  Not limiting its success to America and England alone, versions of “The Producers” have done well in a list of other countries, including Canada, Germany, Japan, Italy, Mexico and Brazil.  In 2005, “The Producers” was again released as a film, which starred Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick and Uma Thurman.
