Keene New Hampshire

Keene New Hampshire is a city located completely within the Connecticut River watershed in the south central portion of the state. Keene NH is situated less than an hour from both Concord and Manchester, and enjoys close proximity to an array of parks, trails, hills, and an inspiring national forest. There are also a variety of annual festivities in Keene NH. The Pumpkin Festival just may be the most popular and widely known of them all. This eagerly anticipated event occurs in the month of September and has set world records for the most jack o’lanterns lit at one time. There are also a multitude of events and activities, competitions and games, and vendors and exhibitors of all kinds. You will also find a huge selection of cuisine and beverages that employ the all-important ingredient: pumpkin. The Keene Music Festival takes place at either the end of August or the beginning of September. It features a selection of stages distributed throughout the downtown area where a wide variety of bands perform.

Keene New Hampshire offers a lot in the way of dining, especially in and around the downtown area. You have the option of choosing from fine dining or casual fare, and there is also a nice selection of wine bars, pubs, and other such nightlife spots where you can enjoy a relaxed experience. One of the best ways to get acquainted with the charm of Keene is to explore the city by foot. It is possible to enjoy a romantic dinner at one of the fine restaurants in town, and follow it up with a leisurely stroll through the town center.
