Laconia Bike Week is a weeklong celebration of motorcycles and the culture of motorcycle riding. Laconia is a beautiful town in New Hampshire situated between Lake Winnipesaukee and Lake Winnisquam. There are a wide variety of activities and attractions over the course of the week, from bike races and building competitions to live music and sponsored road tours.
Laconia Bike Week 2020 is guaranteed to be as exciting as ever, with more live acts and stages and the usually tremendous turnout expected. If you love to ride and have own your own bike, you should strongly consider taking a ride over to what is loosely known as Motorcycle Weekend New Hampshire (even though the events last for a full week).
Laconia Bike Week Festival History and Facts
This popular event has been staged in Laconia, New Hampshire since 1923. The roots of the festival actually go back a bit further, however, when a group of bikers began hanging out in Weirs Beach in Laconia around 1916. There were times for turmoil at the festival in the 1960s, but the inclusion of corporate sponsors, more security, and generally a much more organized concept has brought about a safe environment in which bikers of all stripes can enjoy the festival and show off their choppers. The event averages over 400,000 bikers over the course of the week.
Tickets to Laconia Bike Week
The bike rally does not require purchase of a ticket. When 400,000 people descend upon an otherwise sleepy town in the middle of New Hampshire, you might imagine that they bring along with them a lot of revenue for local businesses and this is generally where visitors will end up needing money. Once you are at Laconia Bike Week 2020, you may want to buy individual tickets for certain events. Other events are completely free. Most people are simply interested in hitting the open road and enjoying the party and festivities with other like-minded motorcyclists.
