McIntyre Ski Area

The McIntyre Ski Area is one of quite a few in the state of New Hampshire. Many of the state’s ski resorts are located farther north, closer to the White Mountain National Forest, whereas the McIntyre Ski Resort is located in the southern part of the state in Manchester. It is about an hour from Boston and is easily accessible from many cities in Maine, Vermont, and Massachusetts. Skiing at McIntyre New Hampshire literally gets better every year. It is a relatively new resort, so every ski season sees new changes to the grounds, from additional lifts and widened ski runs, to expanded facilities and better services. But with all of the options for ski resorts in the state of New Hampshire, skiers and boarders will first want to know what the mountain and conditions are like.

The McIntyre Ski Area is a modestly sized resort that features fourteen trails across fifteen acres. There is only about a 300-foot vertical drop, but you have to put this in context with the quality of the snow and innovative natures of the trails. If you are a hardcore skier or boarder looking for the next biggest challenge, you are not going to find it at the McIntyre Ski Resort. That does not mean you would not have a lot of fun visiting for a day or night of skiing. Also, this can be a wonderful place for all inclusive ski vacations, especially for families with small children that see the appeal of having plenty of beginner’s terrain with lessons and all kinds of nice amenities. The access to Manchester, Nashua, Boston, and a variety of other cities can also be an appealing prospect for people who want to incorporate shopping, dining, and nightlife with their ski vacations. Skiing at McIntyre New Hampshire is a fun and laid back experience. You don’t have to wait long in lift lines, the lodge serves awesome food and drinks, and you can rent or buy gear on-site. Lessons are available for people of all ages and skill levels.

If you are in fact interested in taking lessons, there are a variety of services. There is a great Parent and Tot Program for parents who wish to learn alongside the little ones, and there are also ski camps for kids ages six through twelve. If you live in the general vicinity and have been thinking about fun family ski vacations, the McIntyre Ski Area may be just the place for you. You will be able to stay in any number of accommodations in Manchester or Nashua, and it is no big deal to stay in Boston and make the drive.

New Hampshire features quite a few ski resorts, so serious skiers and boarders may want to check out other resorts not far away such as Bretton Woods, Attitash and Bear Peak, and Ragged Mountain. The McIntyre Ski Resort offers ski equipment rental, so if you are already vacationing in one of the surrounding cities and don’t want to haul around all of your gear, you can just grab what you need onsite. Skiing at McIntyre New Hampshire is a great, family-friendly experience.
