Mount Sunapee

Mount Sunapee is a ski resort in New Hampshire located just a few miles east of the Mt. Kearsarge State Forest Park. The Mount Sunapee Ski Area is located about an hour from Manchester and can be accessed with relative ease from cities such as Boston, Portland, and Burlington. Mount Sunapee is just one of quite a few beautiful ski areas in the state of New Hampshire. The great thing about planning ski vacations to this state is that you can make the circuit to a wide range of resorts, all within close proximity of one another. Ragged Mountain is just sixteen miles away Pats Peak is less than twenty miles. There is no slope-side Mount Sunapee lodging, but there are a number of options within close range, some within a half mile. And although the activities go on year round at this resort, the real excitement happens during the winter months when snowboarding and skiing season is in full gear.

The top elevation at the Mount Sunapee Ski Area is 2,743 feet with a bottom elevation of 1,230 feet and a vertical rise of 1,513 feet. The average snowfall in this part of New Hampshire averages out at around 100 inches every year, which means great skiing and boarding on this size hill. Ten lifts service an impressive 65 runs over 232 acres of magnificent terrain. For beginners, 26 percent of the runs are suitable, 49 percent for intermediates, and a nice 25 percent for advanced skiers and boarders. You will also enjoy an amazing terrain park with all kinds of jumps, rails, and pipes. Those interested in Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and tubing will also find a good time at Mount Sunapee.

There are seven places to get food and drinks at Mount Sunapee. Most offer comfort food designed to appeal to just about everyone. You can enjoy a fine dining experience at the Hearthstone Room or maybe you would rather just catch Chicago-style hot dog at the Summit Lodge. After a long day or evening of hitting the slopes it may also be perfectly in order to grab a couple of drinks at the onsite pub. It’s all just a part of the experience you can expect when you plan your ski vacations to include the Mount Sunapee Ski Area. There are a lot of fun activities for adults and kids alike, including lessons and instruction for people of all ages and skill levels.

There are a couple of nearby options for Mount Sunapee lodging. There are ski-and-stay packages available at the 1806 Inn at Mount Sunapee (the closest lodging to the resort). There are also deals at the Back Side Inn, a pretty farmhouse turned inn on the backside of Mount Sunapee. The Best Western Sunapee Lake Lodge, Blue Goose Inn, and Candlelite Inn are several more options where you may be able to realize nice savings by booking your accommodations through the resort. Mount Sunapee lodging includes everything from area bed and breakfasts and inns to cheap motels and very nice hotels.
