Waterville Valley is a ski resort in New Hampshire located in the heart of the White Mountain National Forest. The mountain at the Waterville Ski Area dwarfs the hills at many of the other resorts farther south in the state closer to Manchester and Nashua, which include Pats Peak and McIntyre. The geographical location of the resort and elevation of the mountain also means that this area receives and average snowfall of 150 inches every year. If you are looking for a Waterville Valley hotel, lodging is available at a number of locations within the expansive Waterville Valley Village.
The Waterville Valley Ski Area has much to offer in terms of winter sports. First of all, the top elevation at Waterville Valley is over 4,000 feet with an impressive vertical rise of over 2,000 feet. The bottom elevation is 1,984 feet. The twelve lifts at the resort cater to over 14,000 people every hour, distributing them to the 54 disparate trails spread out over 255 acres. Twenty percent of the ski and snowboarding runs are for beginners, 60 percent for intermediates, and 20 percent for experts. If you wish to visit as many of the New Hampshire ski areas as possible while on your vacation, you will have no trouble accessing them from here. For instance, Loon Mountain, Cannon Mountain, and Attitash and Bear Peak are all less than twenty miles away.
Rentals and a variety of lessons are also available onsite. You can rent equipment, get your gear repaired, and set up lessons for anyone in your group. There are lessons to suit people of all skill levels and ages and programs specifically for families to learn together. Staying at a Waterville Valley hotel will allow you to turn this into an all inclusive ski vacation (or pretty close to it), and you may just be able to save a lot of money in the process.
There are several options for a Waterville Valley hotel, including the Golden Eagle Lodge, the Black Bear Lodge, or the Snowy Owl Inn. You also have the option of staying at one of the Waterville Valley Ski Area Town Square Condominiums. Kids that attend the skate camp have awesome bunk-style accommodations and there are several real estate companies located within the village that are more than happy to arrange for any kind of accommodation you desire.
There are a wide variety of ski and stay packages within the village and even with some of the accommodations in the surrounding areas. This is such a beautiful part of the state of New Hampshire, that it is near impossible for any accommodation within close proximity of the resort not being beautiful. No matter which Waterville Valley hotel or accommodation you choose from, you will be treated to a range of amenities, from a fitness center and athletic club, to pools, golf, tennis, and a variety of other activities to keep everyone in your group more than happy and occupied.
Summer does not see an end, but rather a new beginning to the activities at the Waterville Valley Ski Area. Where once there was skiing, boarding, and tubing, you will find mountain biking, golf, hiking, and fishing. It is all a part of the way of life in the lovely state of New Hampshire.
