The Atlantic City Air Show is one of the most highly anticipated events every summer in New Jersey. It is fantastic entertainment for people of all ages. The explosive performances include F/A-18F Super Hornets and the all-impressive Marine Harriers. This annual event was held at the end of August, but was moved to a mid-week day in June for 2013. The Atlantic City Air Show New Jersey is appealing not only because of the day of exhilarating aerobatics and solo and formation flying routines, but also because of the wide range of entertainment, hotels, and restaurants in the city. Atlantic City is a fun place to visit to begin with, and the Atlantic City Air Show 2016 is one of its top events.
Atlantic City Air Show Festival History and Facts
The air show has been an integral part of the summer events schedule in Atlantic City since 2003 and continues to wow crowds with unbelievable aerial performances. Seeing the Harrier alone is well worth the cost of admission. This spectacular work of engineering launches off the ground vertically before blasting forward into the air. The air show lasts from 10:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. and the entertainment does not stop the entire time. There are designated parking lots and public facilities. You can watch from the boardwalk or purchase tickets for the public beach by joining the Flightline Club. Be sure to bring light clothes, sunscreen, water, and a hat. There are plenty of concessions and restaurants around, but you will want to bring water to make sure to stay hydrated in the late August heat. The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and the U.S. Army Golden Knights are just two of the groups that will be performing.
Atlantic City Air Show Tickets
Unless you want to jockey for position along the boardwalk, you can pay for the V.I.P. beach pass, which costs around $50. The vantage point from the beach is ideal for viewing the aerial performances and you also get unlimited food and drinks with the ticket. The boardwalk is not the worse place to view the performances either. It is just that it is better from the beach. In the sense that you can watch from the boardwalk for free, it is not at all a bad deal.
