The Blue Heron Pines course is one of two great courses
located in the small town of Cologne near Atlantic
City in New Jersey. Atlantic City has long been known
as one of the top family vacation destinations in the
United States thanks to attractions like Ripley’s
Museum and Aquarium and the famous Atlantic
City boardwalk. Atlantic City is also becoming one
of the most popular places for golf in North America,
and golf vacations at the Blue Heron Pines Golf Club are
a great way to take advantage of this growing trend.
Blue Heron golf began when the Blue Heron Pines course
first opened in 1993. The Blue Heron Pines course was
designed by Stephen Kay and in 2003 was host to the USGA
Public Links Championship. Blue Heron Pines golf club
is a public course, open to anyone who wants to pay the
daily green fees. Green fees for the Blue Heron golf course
are between $50 and $100 per person, depending on the
season (golf is more expensive in the summer) and the
day of the week (weekends, including Friday, are also
more expensive). The course is 18-holes and is a par 72
course with a slope of 136.
The Blue Heron Pines golf course is also considered to be one of the best courses in the nation for women golfers and has been rated among the "Top 100 Fairways for Women" by a number of different golfing publications for women. Blue Heron golf is also considered among the best in New Jersey and throughout the United States for all golfers of all levels. The Blue Heron golf course covers more than 6,000 square yards and is one of the largest courses in New Jersey.
Future plans for the Blue Heron Pines golf club include
prospects of rental homes, condos and even some additional
hotels. For golfers looking to plan Atlantic City golf
vacations to the area, this is a major boon and creates
unlimited opportunities for golf vacations at Blue Heron
Pines. Currently, other Atlantic
City hotels such as Ballys,
Caesars and Harrahs,
among others, make up the bulk of offerings. Many Atlantic
City hotels also offer golf packages for the Blue Heron
Pines.
In addition to the beautiful Blue Heron Pines Golf Club,
there are some other great options for golfers looking
to play multiple courses near Atlantic City. The Seaview
Marriott, Scotland
Run Golf Course, Vineyard Golf Course, Atlantic
City Country Club, Harbor Pines, and the Renault Winery
Golf Course are all excellent golf courses found near
or in Atlantic City. While in town, be sure to check out
Lucy the Elephant
and the Storybook Land
amusement park if you happen to be traveling with children.
Adults will want to check out the growing number of Atlantic
City casinos; many of which are open 24 hours a day.
