Ocean City Beach is one of the best places in the state for a seaside getaway. With 2.5 miles of boardwalk, amusement parks, a downtown shopping district, and miles of sandy shores, the city is at its liveliest in the summer. Ocean City is also a haven for outdoor recreation. Visitors flock to the Great Egg Harbor Bay for kayaking, deep-sea fishing, boating, and windsurfing.

Ocean City Beach, both along the bay and the ocean, long has been known as a family resort; the kids in the backseat wondering if they're there yet will be glad to know the trip won't take forever. A short drive from Belmar Beach, Avalon, Point Pleasant, and the Cape May beaches along the Garden State Expressway, it's easy to get to Ocean City Beach from many points. Philadelphia, New York City, and Newark are located within a few hours. The beaches of Delaware and Maryland can be reached with a ride on the Cape May Ferry.
