Balloons at the Albuquerque Balloon Festival are inflated prior to take off. What began as a modest festival of 13 balloons in 1972 has taken flight to become the biggest balloon festival in the world. The many different stages of the fiesta are equally beautiful. It will be the decision of individual guests to decide what sight they find more thrilling: hundreds of balloons filling the clear New Mexico sky, the rainbow of balloons before they take flight, or the incredible sight of the burners all glowing simultaneously after nightfall.
