New Mexico Luxury Hotels

The New Mexico luxury hotels include a number of gems that can satisfy even the most discerning of travelers. Lavish lodges, relaxing resorts, and inviting inns figure among the upscale lodging choices, and should you be wondering where to find them, the north-central part of the state is a good place to begin your search. This is where the bulk of the New Mexico luxury hotels can be found, with the Albuquerque and Santa Fe area being home to the highest concentration.

Albuquerque is the largest city in New Mexico, and as such, it has a good number of lodging options. As far as the luxury Albuquerque hotels are concerned, there are two that arguably reign supreme. One of these hotels is the Sandia Resort and Casino. Found at 30 Rainbow Boulevard NE on the Sandia Reservation, this Native American casino hotel offers 228 comfortable guest units, and these units come in the form of rooms and suites. Standard in-room amenity highlights include cozy furnishings, flat screen TVs, Wi-Fi, and hair dryers, and it only gets better when you consider the general facilities. At the Sandia Resort and Casino, guests can tempt Lady Luck in the Vegas-style casino, choose from a variety of treatments at the full-service spa, or tee it up on the lush golf course, among other things.

Since the Sandia Resort and Casino is a relatively lively hotel, especially when the sun goes down, discerning travelers who are looking for a quieter luxury lodging experience in the Albuquerque area might prefer the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa (pictured). This divine retreat is about a twenty-minute drive from Albuquerque and can be found in Santa Ana Pueblo at 1300 Tuyuna Trail. When the drive out comes to an end and you reach this wonderful resort, you will know that you are in for a good stay. Due to its lovely pueblo-style design, the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort fits in splendidly with the surrounding hills and valley, and you might quickly notice the championship golf course. If your voyage to New Mexico was a particularly long or taxing one, a session at the 16,000-square-foot spa might be in order after you get settled in, and there is no shortage of enticing dining options if a meal is what you have in mind. There is a lot to like about this five star accommodation in New Mexico, and it's just a 45-minute drive to Santa Fe if you want to indulge in a side trip to the capital.

Santa Fe is a city that is not to be missed when traveling through New Mexico. A culturally rich capital that is known for its art and architecture, it pleases on many levels. One of the very best luxury hotels that can be found in Santa Fe is the Inn of the Five Graces. You can hardly argue with the Barrio de Analco location for starters. Just a few blocks away is the historic Santa Fe Plaza. This isn't the only reason to keep this hotel in mind, however. In terms of style, it is arguably second to none, and the 24 guest units provide numerous amenities. CD players figure among the standard amenities, as do Wi-Fi, cozy robes, stocked refrigerators, and cable TV. Outside of the guest units, the welcoming facilities include a fitness center and a restaurant, and you might be interested to know that spa services are available for an added fee. A full breakfast is included in the rates at the Inn of the Five Graces, and every other day sees the hotel throwing a complimentary wine and cheese party.

If you are hoping to stay in a luxurious Santa Fe hotel, another gem that you might not overlook is the La Posada de Santa Fe Resort and Spa. Situated at 330 East Palace Avenue, this 157-unit hotel offers a fine location near the plaza, and when guests aren't out exploring, they can enjoy any number of facilities. The Victorian-style bar is a charmer and harkens back to the hotel's earlier days as a private mansion, and there are two restaurants to choose from. Complementing the bar and the restaurants are a full-service spa, a salon, an outdoor pool, a fitness room, and a conference center. In the rooms and suites, large LCD TVs add to the upscale edge, and guests also enjoy fully stocked mini bars, safes, soft robes, and gourmet in-room coffee. Fireplaces are also among the amenities in many of the rooms and suites, so you might keep that in mind, especially during the winter or if you are planning a romantic New Mexico vacation.

If the Inn of the Five Graces and the La Posada de Santa Fe Resort and Spa are booked, worry not, as there are other excellent luxury hotels in Santa Fe to select from. You can see if any rooms are available at the Inn of the Anasazi, for example, and the Inn & Spa at Loretto has little trouble pleasing. As for New Mexico luxury hotels that are found in destinations other than Albuquerque and Santa Fe, you might look to the El Monte Sagrado and a handful of other Taos hotels. The luxury hotels in New Mexico are relatively few and far between once you leave Albuquerque and Santa Fe, though Taos does well to provide visitors with some upscale accommodations that are comfortable enough to suit most travelers' needs.
