Lower East Side Hotels

Lower East Side hotels in Manhattan New York offer something for everyone. Whether you like ethnic food or want to go shopping at a second hand shop, hotels on Lower East Side are where you can do just that. The Lower East Side is one of the neighborhoods in New York that has seen waves of immigration for over 100 years. To learn more about New York’s trend in immigration, take a visit to the Lower East Side Tenement Museum. The neighborhood is also popular for shopping. You can buy everything on the lower east side, from cheap souvenirs to designer sunglasses.

Lower East Side Hotels happen to be near Little Italy and Chinatown, two neighborhoods that boast an attractive cultural scene and delicious dining venues. Hotel 91 is a small and contemporary three star hotel located only a half mile from Little Italy and the City Hall and a quarter of a mile from Chinatown. Although the rooms are quite small, the views of Manhattan outside of the oversized windows make them seem much bigger than  they are. Guestrooms are outfitted with soft pillowtop mattresses, marble accented bathrooms, and flat screen TVs. A comfortable guest lounge and complimentary high speed internet access are also offered.

The Cosmopolitan hotel is located in the historical landmark district of Tribeca, in the lower east side of Manhattan. This hotel features simple, yet modern, decor with vanilla colored furniture and accents. Guests can choose between single or double rooms or an ultra contemporary mini loft. The Cosmopolitan also offers rooms with sofas at an additional charge. Each room of the hotel has an individually controlled heating and cooling system, soundproof windows, and a large variety of bathroom amenities. There is also a coffee shop, nail salon, grocery store, and a cafe located right on the hotel premises. This mid range choice in Lower East Side hotels is within a block of the subway station and is a close walk to Chinatown, the Financial District, Battery Park, and the World Trade Center site. Other things to do include visiting the modern art galleries of Tribeca or browsing the boutiques of the nearby district of SoHo.

Another option for Lower East Side hotels is the Radisson Lexington Hotel New York, located at 511 Lexington Avenue at 48th Street. The décor of this mid priced hotel is bright and modern and most of the rooms are relatively large and offer spectacular views of Manhattan. Some of the amenities include a large fitness center, sleep number beds, wireless internet service at a charge, and a business center. There are several dining options to choose from in the hotel, including a lower level coffee shop, an upscale Chinese restaurant, a lounge serving light fare and drinks, and a Latin style nightclub that hosts weekly salsa dancing nights. The hotel can host all kinds of events, from small wedding receptions to large business conferences.  The hotel starts at $250 per night, but there are often weekend or holiday specials.

The Lower East Side has so much to offer in terms of dining and entertainment, shopping, and culture. Virtually all hotels on Lower East Side are within a couple of blocks of a subway stop or a bus station, which is ideal for exploring the rest of New York. Whether you want to learn about the history of New York at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum or simply browse the record and clothing shops of Lexington Avenue, hotels on Lower East Side are a perfect place to stay during any vacation to New York.
