Bronx Hotels

The Bronx is a borough of Manhattan that is often overlooked. Long ago, it was known as an upscale, thriving suburb of New York. Through the years, the neighborhood has seen a decline in the rich and wealthy as many Hollywood movies have illustrated. Although the northernmost borough of New York certainly fell victim to urban decay, efforts to revitalize the Bronx have proved successful. The Bronx has an interesting variety of neighborhoods lined with historical Brownstone buildings, eclectic shops and restaurants, and cheap Bronx hotels. Some of the main attractions of the Bronx include the Bronx Botanical Garden, New York Yankee Stadium, and the Bronx Zoo, the largest urban zoo in the country.

If you’re looking for cheap Bronx hotels but want to avoid staying at run of the mill chain hotels in the Bronx, consider staying at the Van Cortlandt Motel. Offering a welcoming family style atmosphere with comfortable single and double rooms at an affordable price, the Van Cortlandt is a popular choice for anyone on a budget. The Bronx lodging also offers free parking (a rarity in New York City) and offers free in-room movies as well as an inexpensive restaurant that stays open late. Like most hotels in the Bronx, convenient public transportation is close by. The staff at the Van Cortlandt hotel can provide you with instructions on how to get to popular New York attractions, such as Radio City Music Hall or the Empire State Building. The Bronx lodging is located at 6393 Broadway.

If you’re looking for Bronx hotels next to New York Yankee Stadium, you may want to consider the Howard Johnson Yankee Stadium, located at 1300 Sedgwick Avenue. Guests will find both single and double rooms equipped with the basics, including a TV, wireless internet service, and a desk. and Rates start at $120 a night, but do check before you book. Another option is the Pelham Garden Motel, located at 1990 E. Gun Hill Road. While the exterior of the hotel is rather unattractive, the interior is well maintained and offers a good value for Bronx New York City hotels. You'll find rooms with jacuzzis as well as rooms with double and king sized beds. The hotel also has a mini golf course and the next door diner is open 24 hours a day. Yankee Stadium is only a 15 minute drive while both JFK and LaGuardia airports are only a 20-25 minute drive.

The Bronx Guesthouse is a family owned and operated bed and breakfast style hotel located just two miles from the Bronx Botanical Garden. The three guest rooms of this tiny hotel are decorated with antiques and furnishings that reflect colonial times. The hotel contains three medium sized guestrooms with shared bathroom facilities. The Bronx hotels amenities include a complimentary breakfast each morning, free wireless internet access, and access to a fax machine. A wide selection of board games are offered for guest use.

If you’re looking for a place to stay, there are plenty of Bronx New York City hotels that are within a short walk from the trains and subways of New York. Also, Bronx lodging is among the least expensive in the city. Prices for hotels in the Bronx often range between $100-$200 a night. Bronx New York City hotels aren’t as upscale as the ones in Manhattan or Brooklyn, but they do provide comfortable lodging at an affordable price.
