Brooklyn Bridge Park

Brooklyn Bridge Park is one of the best New York City attractions to be unveiled in recent years. Part of the city parks system, this recreational area has certainly taken little time to become popular since the first phase opened on March 22, 2010. Part of the allure lies in the fact that the park offers amazing views of the Brooklyn Bridge, the Manhattan Bridge, and the famous Manhattan skyline.

Within the boundaries of Brooklyn Bridge Park are open green spaces, waterfront promenades that make for ideal strolling lanes, and playgrounds for children to take advantage of. These aren’t the only things that the park has to offer, however. Concessionaires provide food and beverage options, there is a cove area with direct access to the water, and various venues play host to special events. Other amenities, if you will, include at least three sand volleyball courts, free ferry service to Governors Island on the weekends, and a dog run area.

This is just a sample of the things that Brooklyn Bridge Park has to offer, and since the park has yet to be finished, it is hard to say what other developments might be on the horizon. One thing is for certain, however. This recreational hot spot has helped bolster the allure of the Brooklyn waterfront and Brooklyn in general. Any and all New York City visitors are encouraged to drop by for a look. The daily hours are 6 am to 1 am.
