The Garment district barely occupies a block of Manhattan, yet it is the world fashion design headquarters, its only rivals being Los Angeles and Paris. Stay at the hotels in Garment district and you’ll be near famous Manhattan attractions such as Madison Square Garden and the Empire State Building. Even if you don’t venture to the top of the Empire State Building, be sure to stop in the lobby to admire the wall murals from the 1930’s. Garment District accommodations are often adorned with textile art that reflects the district’s former status as the textile manufacturing capital of the United States. Just like the neighboring district of Chelsea, hotels in Garment district are low to moderately priced.


One of the most popular choices for Garment District accommodations is the Affinia Hotel is located on Seventh Avenue and 31st Street, just a short walk away from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station. The hotel was built in the late 1920’s and features elegant and traditional décor. The Garment District hotels amenities include high speed internet access (for a daily charge), a hair salon, fitness center, valet parking, and a restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner that also offers room service. Some of the rooms feature kitchenettes with a small refrigerator and sink. The New York Times newspaper is delivered to guest rooms daily. The hotel can host a wide range of events in a 400 capacity ballroom and eight meeting rooms.


Broadway Plaza is a boutique hotel located at Broadway and 27th, near the Flatiron District and the Empire State Building. The Garment District lodging guestrooms are adorned with cherry furniture, granite countertops, and art by Pablo Picasso and feature wi-fi access, a cd player and cd library. A complimentary breakfast is served until 10:00 a.m. every day and room service by the hotel’s downstairs restaurant is available 24 hours a day. Like other hotels in Garment District, public transportation is less than a block away.


The Hotel Metro, located at 45 West 35th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues, is a fashionable and contemporary choice in Garment district lodging that caters mostly to business travelers. Guests can choose between spacious hotel rooms that sleep two or three people. Each guest room includes a mini bar, a refrigerator, and individual climate control. You’ll also be treated to a complimentary breakfast each morning and an onsite fitness center. The Garment District hotels restaurant serves Tuscan food and is open for lunch and dinner. A rooftop garden, open when the weather permits, offers stunning views of the nearby Empire State Building.


Garment district lodging is the perfect choice if you want to stay in one of the most convenient areas of New York City. Garment District hotels are located within a couple blocks of public transportation and are close to other districts of New York, including Chelsea and the Meatpacking District.
