Gramercy Park Hotels

Gramercy Park is a private park located in the Gramercy neighborhood of Manhattan in New York, between East 20th Street and East 21st Street and between Park Avenue South and Third Avenue. The little park was the setting of Notting Hill starring Julia Roberts and is the oldest private park in the world. In 1831, the little piece of land was converted from a swamp into what is now considered a historic district. The park has remained untouched since it was originally landscaped. If you came to New York only to see famous attractions such as Times Square and Madison Square Garden, hotels in Gramercy Park are located within a 5 minute drive of the attractions. Although the park is off limits to the public, there are several Gramercy Park hotels a short distance away from the park.

If you’re a fan of postmodern pop art, the Gershwin Hotel located at 7 E. 27th St. is an attractive option for Gramercy Park hotels. Inspired by Andy Warhol, this Gramercy Park lodging is adorned with bright primary colored walls, unusually scaled furniture, and a large collection of pop art. Some of the rooms of the Gramercy Park lodging are quite large, with 300 square feet of space. The Gramercy Park hotels downstairs restaurant is still awaiting a permit, but 28 Cafe right down the street is open all day and will deliver take-out to your room. Madison Square Park is located just a block south of the Gershwin and other hotels in Gramercy Park. The park is a clean and safe place in New York City to take a walk or have a picnic any time of day.

Another option for hotels in Gramercy Park is the Gramercy Park Hotel, a contemporary hotel decorated with bright colors and modern art. Each one of its 185 guest rooms and suites has a unique layout and an interesting collection of art work as well as a bright Renaissance inspired color palette. Work out at the gym after hitting the streets of Manhattan or hire one of the hotel’s personal trainers to help you achieve your fitness goals. Access to the gym is free, and personal training is an additional hourly charge. The Gramercy Park hotels luxury spa is the perfect setting to get rid of your jet-lag with an array of treatments, including facials, manicures and pedicures, and massage. The hotels's restaurant, Wakiya, is open all day for drinks and dinner. It also offers a Chinese Dim Sum on Saturdays and Sundays for brunch.  Rooms start at around $400, but the hotel frequently has specials, so be sure to check.

If you’re willing to splurge on hip hotels in Gramercy Park, you won’t be disappointed by the Roger Williams hotel. Located at 131 Madison Avenue, the design savvy Gramercy Park lodging features 193 colorful and modern rooms as well as 15 terrace rooms featuring private garden terraces. A mezzanine lounge serves cocktails and light meals, while a breakfast pantry is a great place to grab a quick bite to eat before embarking on your days activities. A state of the art fitness center features all of the newest fitness equipment available. Rooms start at $289 a night.
