Show Description:
Grease the Musical needs little introduction. Since 1972, the production has been going strong on New York's Broadway always remaining a popular story of youthful exuberance.

Grease is a high school love story captured by teenage desire and slick sing-a-long songs. Set in Rydell High, an American high school in the 1950's, the story centers around teen rebel 'Danny Zuko', leader of the T-Birds. Intent on using school as a place to chat up girls, smoke cigarettes and have fun, 'Danny's' rebel behavior soon begins to change following a new arrival to the school, 'Sandy Dumbrowski', considered a beautiful but un-cool girl by her peers. 'Danny' already knows 'Sandy'. Both had begun a summer romance before the start of the new high school term. Although awkward at first 'Danny' realizes he has fallen for the girl of his dreams but desperately tries to retain his cool like rebel status as word spreads of his suspected relationship with 'Sandy'. The story is essentially acted out through various high school subcultures and is very much a rock n roll infused script about growing up and going steady. The motor vehicle savvy Pink Ladies and T-Birds give substance to these 1950's boy and girl characters and their belonging to an identified group of friends.

While no longer original and not necessarily a fresh take on the established script, such is the continuing popularity of the production; Grease on Broadway is still making box office records leaving Grease Tickets on Broadway in demand. You'll find Grease Tickets starting at about $100 to over $250.

Artists/Show Biography:
Perhaps the most recognizable thing to come from Grease on Broadway is inevitably the music. Most famous and instantly recognizable are songs 'Summer Nights', 'We Go Together' and 'Greased Lightening'. Since the Hollywood hit film in 1978 starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, generations of young and old have enjoyed the slick hairstyles and stylish dance choreography of Grease the Musical. Such informed choreography comes courtesy of Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall and creators Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. The show is very much a 1950's ode to Rock n Roll and youthful energy. The underling story is the coming of age and growing up of the central characters through their final year of high school.
