Little Italy is a neighborhood of Manhattan in New York that has a long cultural history. Hotels in Little Italy reside on narrow streets made of old cobblestone that are lined with Italian restaurants and delis that have been owned by the same families for generations. The neighborhood got its name from the hundreds of Italian immigrants that once inhabited its tenements. Today, the neighborhood is inhabited by people from all walks of life. The laid back atmosphere of Little Italy makes it an ideal choice for lodging. Little Italy hotels are near the trains and subways of Manhattan as well as the shopping of Canal Street and the sights and sounds of Chinatown. The SoHotel, located at 341 Broome Street, dates back to the 18th century and is one of the oldest hotels in Manhattan. Despite the Little Italy hotels age, the hotel goes through frequent renovations that keeps its rooms modern and updated. The rooms of the Little Italy lodging feature double or king sized beds with flat screened TVs, marble furnishings, hardwood floors, and exposed brick walls. The staff offers a nightly turn service and complimentary refreshments. The hotel is near public transportation and the vibrant neighborhoods of Little Italy and SoHo.  


Another option for Little Italy hotels is Hotel Azure, located at 120 Lafayette Street. The Little Italy hotel is actually in the Soho District, just a block away from Little Italy. Since there aren't very many hotels in Little Italy, staying in the stylish district of Soho is a convenient way to be near to Little Italy. The atmosphere of this mid priced Little Italy lodging is simple yet modern, with white and light green furnishings and glass accents throughout the lobby and the guest rooms. Hotel Azure features continental breakfasts, concierge service, and complimentary high speed internet access, and 32 inch flat screen TVs. Some of the rooms also have mini fridges.


The Clarion Collection Solita SoHo Hotel is located on 159 Grand Street, near Madison Square Garden and the World Trade Center Site. The chic 42 unit hotel is decorated with contemporary furnishings that reflect the fashionable district of SoHo. Some of the Little Italy New York City hotels amenities include free high speed internet access in the guestrooms and the lobby, free bottled water, and a complimentary newspaper that is delivered daily. Although the guest rooms are small, some of the units offer scenic views of the Manhattan skyline. Multi-lingual staff are available to answer any questions or suggest things to do in Manhattan. Although there aren't any restaurants in the Little Italy lodging, the neighborhoods of SoHo and Little Italy are full of restaurants that deliver and offer take out.  


Staying at Little Italy New York City hotels will allow you to sample all of the foods that Italy is famous for without ever having to leave New York.
