Statue of Liberty – Built in 1886 as a gift to the United States from France, the Statue of Liberty has stood as a testament to freedom on Liberty Island in the New York Harbor ever since. The Statue of Liberty is open an impressive 364 days each year and closed only on Christmas day. The statue itself stands 151 feet tall, while the entire monument from its base to the top of the torch measures 305 feet. To get to the island, visitors must take a ferry service from either Liberty State Park in New Jersey or Battery Park in Manhattan.
