Show Description:
Never one to shy away from theatrical gestures, the Spamalot Broadway production incorporates killer rabbits, cows and French people with great python esque gags and sing-a-long songs (well it is a musical). Spamalot follows the tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table on quest to recover the long lost Holy Grail.
Grounded in the legacy of Monty Python, British comedy’s most triumphant son’s, and their successful TV comedy series Monty Python’s Flying Circus, the production showcases great Python era comedy. As such Monty Python Spamalot produces off the wall laughs from start to finish with particular British wit. Self confessed to having ‘lovingly ripped off’ the classic Python film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the musical comedy delivers an absolute treat for python fans and new comers alike. Fans will be pleased to see that the show retains many memorable scenes from the film, while Spamalot also makes a great introduction for younger audiences to British comedy, musicals and the theatre in general.
Despite initial misgivings by many critics, the show
opened in New York’s Broadway proving a great success.
This is no less reflected by the host of cities now holding
productions of the hit show including Las
Vegas, London
and Melbourne.
You should also look out for Monty Python’s touring
Spamalot productions.
Spamalot Tickets generally start at about $100. Spamalot
Broadway still enjoys a popular following but cheap Spamalot
Tickets can be found at most times of the year.
