The tallest hotel in NYC is set to open in the near future. A combination of a Courtyard by Marriott and a Residence Inn, this Marriott International offering will rise 68 stories into the Manhattan sky. That’s equivalent to a height of just over 750 feet. Sure, there are NYC hotels that are found in even taller buildings, but those buildings also have office and/or residential space, and thus fall into a separate category.
Marriott’s tallest hotel in NYC will more specifically be found in Manhattan’s midtown district. That means that future guests will essentially be in the heart of it all and within easy reach of many of New York City’s best attractions. They will also be close to the major transportation hubs that are Grand Central Station and Penn Station. It doesn’t get much more convenient than that. The Courtyard Hotel that will be part of the tallest hotel in NYC will occupy floors six through 32 and have 378 rooms. The Residence Inn will occupy floors 36 through 64 and have 261 units. Found on the 34th floor will be a shared fitness facility. The remaining lower floors will have both retail and restaurant space, with the main entrance being on 54th Street.
It is interesting to note that the hotel that Marriott International is set to open in New York City won’t only be the tallest stand-alone hotel building in the Big Apple. It will also be the tallest structure of its kind in the entire United States. As you might imagine, the views from the building's rather lofty upper reaches will be sublime. Looking west from the top floors, it is possible to see across the Hudson River to New Jersey. To the south, midtown unfolds, and Times Square is in clear view. To the east, such notable structures as the Hearst Tower and Carnegie Hall can be seen. Gazing out to the north, it is possible to see the inviting expanse that is Central Park.
