Waldorf Astoria New York

The Waldorf Astoria New York hotel has long been one of the world’s most highly recognizable luxury hotels. A true New York City landmark, it is housed within a beautiful Art Deco building and can be found in the heart of vibrant Manhattan at 301 Park Avenue. The building itself dates back to 1931, and among its main attributes is a lobby so grand that it is bound to leave you breathless. Add in the amazing rooms, the opulent ballroom, and all the other fine touches, and it is easy to understand why this upscale retreat gets so much attention.

Waldorf Astoria Lobby

Step into the glorious Waldorf Astoria lobby, and you might find yourself thinking that you have been transported back to the Golden Age. Graceful and elegant are two words that could be used to describe this huge welcoming area, and there is no shortage of things to admire regardless of where the eye wanders. The glorious mosaic floor is certainly dazzling, and Waldorf Astoria lobby visitors are sure to notice the ornate clock. This bronze clock is nine feet tall and was formerly the centerpiece of the old Waldorf Hotel. The original Waldorf Hotel, for those who might be wondering, opened in 1893 and occupied the site where the Empire State Building now sits. As a side note, just off the Waldorf Astoria lobby is the Peacock Alley restaurant. Among other things, this renowned eatery is known for its delightful Sunday brunches.

Waldorf Astoria Ballroom

The Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City offers a variety of enticing event venues. Among them is the Grand Ballroom. This is the only two-tiered ballroom in the city, and thanks to the 44-foot high ceiling, it is extremely airy. Adding to the opulent atmosphere is a custom chandelier, and those who choose to use the Waldorf Astoria Grand Ballroom as their NYC event venue will be happy to know that a state-of-the-art sound system is in place. Another main feature of this renowned social venue is the large stage. It is fully functionable and could easily be used to put on a Broadway caliber show. In relation to capacity, the Waldorf Astoria Ballroom can accommodate 1,500 for dinners and 1,100 guests when the dance floor is made available.

Waldorf Astoria Room

The Waldorf Astoria New York offers more than 1,000 guests units between its main hotel and the upper Waldorf Towers floors. None of these guest units are exactly alike. That’s not to say that there aren’t similarities, however. Each of the rooms and suites at the Waldorf Astoria has a marble bath, for example, and other standard amenity highlights include flat screen TVs, premium cable programming, high-speed internet access, and luxurious bedding. In terms of size, the smallest Waldorf Astoria rooms offer 250 square feet of space, which is impressive enough. Larger accommodations are available for those who want more, and it is even possible to rent a suite that is larger than most NYC apartments.

Waldorf Astoria Suite

If a luxurious suite is what you have in mind for your New York City vacation, the Waldorf Astoria can surely accommodate. As is true of the hotel’s rooms, its suites are spread out between the main Waldorf Astoria Hotel and the more exclusive Waldorf Towers. Book a Tower room or suite, and you can take advantage of the available butler service and the convenient Clefs d’Or concierge service. There are no less than nine different suite categories for those who prefer booking an extra spacious unit at the Waldorf Astoria, and it should be noted that there are also amazing apartment units for those who are thinking of establishing a more permanent residence at the world famous hotel.
