Radio City Music Hall

Radio City Music Hall

Located in the famous Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall in New York is the world’s largest indoor theater and host to the world-famous Rockettes and annual Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Since opening its doors in 1932, Radio City Music Hall in New York has hosted some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and Sammy Davis, Jr.

New York Radio City Music Hall was built during the Great Depression, and was constructed in the popular Art Deco style of that era. The Great Stage, measuring 66 feet deep and 144 feet wide, was designed to resemble a giant setting sun, and incorporates an intricate hydraulic elevator system that so impressed the United States Navy that its design was used in World War II aircraft carriers. In its over 70 years in existence, Radio City Music Hall in New York has drawn crowds consisting of both New York City natives and visitors from around the globe.

Popular New York Radio City Music Hall attractions include the annual Radio City Christmas Spectacular, an eight-week production that has been a sell-out success since its first show in 1933, and the famous Radio City Music Hall Rockettes—the all-female dance troupe that has wowed Radio City audiences for more than 75 years (first known as The Missouri Rockets from St. Louis). Other names in entertainment are booked into Radio City as well, and there are productions on the calendar of events sure to please attendees of all ages. Tickets to all New York Radio City Music Hall shows sell quickly, so it’s best to get your tickets in advanced to ensure you’ve got the best seats.

To get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into Radio City, book a Radio City Music Hall tour. Advanced-purchase tickets are recommended for the Stage Door Tour, the official Radio City Music Hall tour, and can be purchased online. Same-day tour tickets can be purchased at the adjacent Radio City Avenue Store. This famous Radio City Music Hall tour is a great way to learn more about the history and fame of this landmark venue, including information about its Great Stage and hydraulic system, the famous names that have graced its hall, and the 1999 renovation of its interior. A Radio City Music Hall tour can be combined with other Rockefeller Center tours.

Radio City Music Hall in New York will provide its visitors with a bit of a time travel back into 1930s history, and a bank of star-powered memories to last a lifetime.
