Rochester New York

As the third largest city in New York, Rochester is a perfect place to live or to take a vacation.  A Rochester vacation can be spent touring museums, shopping, or playing a round of golf.

One attraction worth visiting on a Rochester vacation is the Seneca Park Zoo. The zoo is full of a wide variety of animals, such as amphibians, invertebrates, and mammals that live in a spacious setting. The Seneca Zoo offers educational programs and actively participates in conservation efforts. The Rochester New York zoo is open all year long. From April 1 to October 31, the zoo is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. all other times of the year. It's officially closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day, as well as the first Saturday in June. Admission prices are $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $5 for children between the ages of 3 and 11. Children under two are admitted for free.

Rochester travel is especially popular with young people thanks to Sea Breeze Park, an amusement park featuring over seventy rides and attractions, including a large water park. One of the most popular attractions is the Jack Rabbit, a wooden roller coaster that was built in 1920. The coaster is one of the oldest coasters in the country and features a 75-foot drop and a dark tunnel. Sea Breeze Park is open every day of the week during the summer and closes when it starts getting cold in the fall.

To learn more about science and the natural history of New York, head to the Rochester Museum and Science Center. This multilevel museum features exhibits related to anthropology, the natural sciences, and the universe. The Strasenburgh Planetarium, located within the museum, offers educational shows that attempt to educate visitors about black holes, stars, the sun, and the Milky Way Galaxy. The museum is open from Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. There are also discounts for corporate members, students, and seniors.

Rochester travel often involves a few rounds of golf, especially during the warm summer months. Since there are so many Rochester golf courses that it is possible to spend each day of your Rochester vacation at a different course. One Rochester golf course worth visiting is the Durand Eastman Golf Course, located at 1200 Kings Highway in Rochester NY. The Rochester golf course features 18 holes with a par of 70 for men and a par of 72 for women.

A Rochester New York vacation can be fun any time of year, although you will have the best chances of weather between early April and mid-October. Many people love Rochester travel during the fall when the leaves change color. Rochester hotels can be found throughout the city for all prices. No matter what time of year you decide to visit Rochester New York, you’ll be met with a variety of things to do.
