Travel to New York is a 365-day-a-year occurrence. New York events are a non-stop affair. One of the most popular upstate New York events is the annual New York State Fair in Syracuse. Taking place in late August-early September, the fair showcases New York State's finest in agriculture, animal husbandry, and arts/crafts.

Christmas is a popular time for many New York vacations, especially New York City. During this magical time of year, the city becomes alive with holiday excitement and there are many opportunities to celebrate the season in style and tradition. Rockefeller Center is a widely-visited holiday destination, with its giant Christmas tree and ice skating, and Radio City Music Hall's famous Christmas Spectacular and Rockettes holiday shows. Many New York vacations taken at this time of year are geared specifically toward the famous shopping to be had along New York City's Fifth Avenue! The annual New Year's Eve Ball Drop in Times Square is among the most exciting of New York events, and is attended by thousands.
