There are a few different beaches on Bald Head Island North Carolina, all of which stay relatively uncrowded and are great for swimming and body-boarding. There is a full-service marina at the Bald Head Island Harbour where you can arrange boating and fishing trips, or you might opt to rent a kayak or canoe. For those interested in Bald Head Island night life, the scene is fairly limited, but you can certainly head out to a bar to enjoy some cocktails. Also, plenty of Bald Head Island rental properties have more than adequate entertainment space, so enjoying time with friends and/or family after a fun-filled day is plenty enough Bald Head Island night life for most. Near the marina and the Bald Head Island Club is where you will find the most going on after the sun sets. As for Bald Head Island night life of a different kind, you might interest yourself in a "Bald Head Island After Dark" experience, where participants head out at night to learn about and look for alligators, bats, frogs, and other interesting creatures.

You certainly shouldn't get bored when enjoying a Bald Head Island North Carolina vacation, and there may be no better place in the country to "get away from it all". Bald Head Island is found near Wilmington, just off of North Carolina's southern coast, and as mentioned, the way to get here is by ferry. Ferries generally leave on the hour, with abbreviated schedules in winter and expanded ones in summer. You won't find any hotels at this rather upscale destination, with the Bald Head Island rental options figuring as your only accommodation choices. A good amount of homeowners rent their enviable homes out to visitors when they aren't enjoying them, and there are also plenty of nice cottages and condos to choose from. Many Bald Head Island rental properties furnish a golf cart for getting around, or you can rent one if yours does not. As you might imagine, summers are the peak travel seasons for Bald Head Island, though there really isn't necessarily a bad time to come here for rest and relaxation. Old Baldy, which is the state's oldest lighthouse, will always be here to greet you.
