North Carolina Resorts

With miles of beach front property along the Outer Banks, beautiful mountain views along the Blue Ridge Parkway, and a hefty stretch of the Appalachian Trail within its boundaries, the state of North Carolina has some impressive resorts. North Carolina ski resorts are another way to enjoy the state, depending on the time of year. North Carolina beach resorts offer the convenience of access to the beach and combine it with great restaurants and community activities.

Located in Chetola, North Carolina and surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Chetola Resort at Blowing Rock is one the prettiest North Carolina resorts. First built in the mid-19th century, this North Carolina Resort was once an enormous manor house. The original building has been mostly renovated, but parts of the first structure still remain, mainly in the lobby area. A restaurant, soda shop, bar, indoor pool and 4 tennis courts have all been added since the home’s antebellum days, making this North Carolina resort an idyllic place to spend a summer weekend or week with the family. Prices range from $130 to just under $300 per night.

Another of the most popular North Carolina resorts is the Maggie Valley Resort and Country Club in Maggie Valley, North Carolina. This is another of North Carolina’s idyllic resorts, nestled among the mountains and providing a feeling to guests that they may have stepped back in time. This resort mainly caters to families, and there is an 18-hole golf course, outdoor pool, restaurant, bar and workout facility on the hotel grounds. Prices range from $100 to about $200 per night, with prices being higher during the resorts busy season between April and October. Green fees (around $50 per person) are not included in the room fees unless you book a golf package.

North Carolina Beach Resorts are another great way to take a vacation in North Carolina. The Outer Banks are the most popular destination for North Carolina Beach Resorts, with Kill Devil Hills and Cape Hatteras being of particular popularity. One great choice is the Blockade Runner, an enormous resort located in Wrightsville on the Outer Banks. An outdoor pool compliments the beach, and poolside drink service continues to make this a popular resort for business travelers and couples. Many of the hotel’s rooms have views of the ocean as the hotel is located right on the beach. Rates include access to hotel amenities and are between $100 and $300 per night.

Though the beach may be great in the summer, North Carolina ski resorts are the perfect choice in the winter. North Carolina ski resorts can be found throughout the Appalachian Mountains, combining the fun of skiing during the day with the warmth of dinner by a restaurant fireplace in the evening. Many of the resorts found at North Carolina ski hills such as Appalachian Mountain are actual groups of condos with separate living quarters and some shared amenities such as hot tubs or lobbies. Condos can accommodate anywhere from 2 to 8 people, generally, and will usually cost around $1500 per week.
