Boomerang Bay is one of the things that make the Kings Island theme park unique. Not only is this attraction near Cincinnati home to hair-raising roller coasters and rides, but it is also home to its own water park. This Kings Island water park has more than 50 water amenities and 30 waterslides, and Boomerang Bay is one of the top places to be during the hot Ohio summer. Some visitors are surprised that it is possible to spend an entire day at this waterpark at Kings Island, but entry to this section of the theme park is always included with the price of admission to the main park, so it is up to visitors how much time to spend on the roller coasters and how much time to spend splashing around.
Boomerang Bay was remodeled and expanded in 2004. Since that time, Kings Island has become twice as attractive for all that it offers families and thrillseekers. The Kings Island water park used to be known as Waterworks, but the new name came with the 2004 renovation. Some visitors have no interest in the roller coasters, entertainment, and family areas of the theme park, and spend all of their time soaking up the sun and enjoying the waterslides. If you do choose to enter from the theme park, the waterpark at Kings Island can be reached by the walkway from Nickelodeon Universe or by riding the train.
Boomerang Bay tries to make a visit for convenient for guests. Lockers are available for a small rental fee and deposit; these are not included in the price of Kings Island tickets. Guests who are interested in reserving a cabana can make reservations ahead of time. Cabanas at the Kings Island water park are a separate fee, however, and some guests find them expensive, particularly if you’re trying to travel on a small budget. Season pass holders may be able to reserve a cabana for less. Half-day rentals are also available if you think you will spend half the day enjoying the roller coasters and other rides at Kings Island, and half the day relaxing at Boomerang Bay.
One way to get the best value out of your cabana is to share it. Cabanas can accommodate up to seven people, so if you’re traveling with another family or with friends, you can split the cost of a cabana together. Other ways of sticking to a budget during your trip to the park include buying a season pass or searching out discount coupons on the internet. Some Kings Island hotels offer discounts as well. Savvy visitors will also save money on parking by staying at one of the hotels that offers complimentary shuttle service back and forth from the theme park, and you can put this money toward a day on the waterslides if you choose.
The waterpark at Kings Island is home to some fantastic rides. Tasmanian Typhoon is a large funnel-like attraction where four people on a raft or sent on a journey of 300 feet in length. Coolangatta Racer offers the chance to plunge down a slide on a raft and the Great Barrier Reef is a heated wave pool. A variety of thrilling slides include Bondi Pipeline and Snowy River Rampage. Boomerang Bay is open from the end of May through the beginning of September from 11 am to 7 pm. Whether you choose to lounge at the water park or head for the biggest coaster at Kings Island, your day will be full of fun.
