Cedar Point Amusement Park Ohio is a favorite vacation destination for people traveling in Ohio. Located in Sandusky on the Lake Erie Peninsula, Cedar Point Amusement Park is about an hour from Cleveland and Toledo. Surrounded by water on three sides the park has a resort-style character to it and has a wealth of things to do for the whole family.


Cedar Point Amusement Park is attractively landscaped and the gardens have become an attraction themselves. The rides are the biggest attraction and many guests can’t wait to get on them! Roller coasters, thrill rides, spin rides, tranquil rides, children’s rides, water rides-there is no lack of rides to choose from! On a hot summer day jump on Thunder Mountain or Snake River Falls and enjoy a wet and wild ride with giant tidal waves and white-water rafting.


Cedar Point Amusement Park Ohio also has Blue Streak, a classic American roller coaster that has been getting visitors’ blood pumping for over 40 years! Or try the Corkscrew, the world’s first triple loop roller coaster. Travel as high as 205 feet while flying ahead at 75mph on the Magnum XL-200. There are over 15 exciting coaster rides for thrill-seekers to choose from which twist and turn and fly through the sky at incredible speeds offering some of the best and most thrilling rides in North America.


When spending time here this Ohio amusement parks Castaway Bay is an incredible, Caribbean-style resort and waterpark. Separate from the park itself day passes are available for $29.00 when visiting as are “island evenings” for about half the price. Castaway Bay offers a variety of suites starting from $219.00 but be sure to check prices. Dining and shopping are available at this part of Cedar Point Amusement Park Ohio as is a spa offering tranquil and relaxing treatments.


There is also Lighthouse Point which offers guests 40 whimsical cottages and cabins and 97 RV sites. The cottages and cabins each comprise 400 square feet with a bedroom, living room, kitchenette and bathroom. Cottages sleep up to six people and cabins up to eight. Rates vary so check before booking. The best part of staying adjacent to Cedar Point Amusement Park Ohio is that guests are allowed into the park an hour before other visitors!


Inside this Ohio amusement park location there are great live shows for all ages. The Palace Theater in Frontiertown and The Red Garter Saloon on Frontier Trail are both live entertainment venues as is the Centennial Theater near the main entryway.


Keep in mind that Cedar Point Amusement park hours vary. For the majority of the time during the summer it’s open from 10:00am to 10:00pm from the end of May toward the end of August. Check their calendar for specific times. When to go would be during the summer months from May through to October.


The best time for the waterparks is June, July and August. Entry rates vary as well with many packages available. Check ticket prices but the best rate is the 4-ticket value pack for $130.00. Soak City, Challenge Park and Castaway Bay are additional and ticket options and rates vary.


The amount and variety of Ohio amusement parks is truly impressive. In addition to Cedar Point there is Coney Island, Paramount’s King Island and Geauga Lake but it doesn’t stop there. Ohio amusement parks also offer a number of waterparks for great summer fun. Ohio is a great place to plan a holiday with the family.
