It would be impossible to keep up to events Ohio has happening all year round! Choosing a few main events of interest is a better approach if visiting for Ohio events and festivals. In addition to the great attractions and sights all around the state Ohio events offer an additional element of fun and excitement to the “Buckeye State”. Ohio festivals abound all year long and there are many happening each and every month in different cities across the state offering a huge variety of things to do for visitors.


Jazz and blues festivals have always been a favorite on the music circuit and many of these Ohio music festivals have been around for decades. A Columbus Ohio events listing shows a number of Ohio music festivals kicking off in the city. The Traditional Acoustic Blues Festival in Columbus is one of the more favored blues events Ohio offers in the city during February. Cold nights become white hot with some of the best blues acts in the country! Blooms and Butterflies is one of the most popular Columbus Ohio events happening at the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus from March through to September. Visitors can watch in fascination as butterflies emerge from their cocoons.


Ohio festivals also include Riverfest in May. Heady music, finger-licking food, lots of fun games and boating along the central Ohio waterways and rivers celebrate the beauty and necessity of the river and the city’s crucial role in protecting it. Columbus Ohio events in May also include the Asian Festival. This Ohio festivals defined by all things Asian including exciting and exotic activities and fabulous food from China, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia and more! Head down and sample the extraordinary cuisine.


Another exciting festival happening on the Ohio events calender is the Fringe Festival in Cincinnati. Music performances, film, arts and everything “outside the box” is celebrated at this event in the beginning of June. Passionate artists began the Ohio festivals idea by putting on a new kind of arts festival and they now have a successful five year history behind them. A 6-day pass is $50.00 but be sure to check before purchasing.


Another Ohio music festivals celebrations start off at the end of July with the Macy’s Music Festival in Cincinnati. The world-class chain sponsors this highly popular Ohio events production at the famous Paul Brown Stadium. This Ohio festivals roots were sown in 1962 and it’s now one of the biggest events featuring contemporary music in the state. If interested in Ohio music festivals another terrific one is the Yellow Springs Ohio Music Festival. Located north west of Dayton the variety of music at this festival is incredible! Zydeco, acoustic folk, blues, americana, soul, R&B, and jazz define this excellent Yellow Springs event.


If you're visiting the state in the late summer and early fall events Ohio offers abound. The Fall Festival of Leaves in Bainbridge south of Columbus offers the perfect vantage point to see the stunning colors of fall among the valleys and hills of the village. Flea markets, parades, pageants and a midway provide fun entertainment for all. The Pumpkin Show in Circleville is great for all ages and Oktoberfest is celebrated throughout the state.


In Ohio there is no absence of great events and festivals! The close proximity of major cities makes transportation from one event to the next a breeze. Accommodation is plentiful and many campgrounds in the state make Ohio camping a great option, especially around Lake Erie.
