Oklahoma Ford Center

The Oklahoma Ford Center is the biggest arena of its kind in the state of Oklahoma. With a seating capacity of just under 20,000, 49 private suites, and 7 rental suites, it is well furnished to be a top-notch multipurpose events arena. Situated on the edge of Bricktown, Oklahoma City's vibrant downtown restaurant and bar district, and with various Oklahoma hotels also in the immediate vicinity, the Oklahoma Ford Center is perfectly placed for an excellent day and night out in the city.

The Ford Center in Oklahoma is home to both the Oklahoma City Blazers hockey team, and the Oklahoma City basketball team. Both regularly sell out the arena, with people flocking from all over the state to support their local teams. These games constitute some of the bigger Ford Center Events, although that's not to say they are the only events to take place here. Instead, there are often many different shows and meets all packed into the same month; regular Ford Center events aside from those related to sports include Monster Truck shows, special music festivals, WWE events, and big-name Ford Center concerts. Given the quality of events it attracts, the Ford Center can rightly claim to be one of the leading exhibition spaces in the US.

The Oklahoma Ford Center opened back in 2002 after three years of solid construction work. Aside from the viewing experience it offers spectators, visitors here will be happy to find an array of dining and drinking opportunities when attending Ford Center events. These include a sandwich bar, a BBQ joint, and an easy-going buffet and bar area. To really do things in style, the Ford Center offers two premium dining options. The Sunset Bistro aims to bring Tuscany to Oklahoma, with its selection of grilled sandwiches, light meats, salads, and (of course) excellent Italian wine. The Old No. 7 Club restaurant meanwhile, is just as classy, featuring mouthwatering food and an extensive collection of alcoholic beverages too, from beer to premium liquor.

Across the street from the Ford Center in Oklahoma you'll find the Cox Convention Center. This also holds major Oklahoma events, and provides a more than adequate second home to the Oklahoma Blazers and Thunder when scheduled games clash. There's also plenty of accommodation on offer, with both Centers served by the Renaissance Oklahoma City Convention Center Hotel, and the superb Courtyard by Marriott Oklahoma City Downtown hotel, which is one of Oklahoma's best luxury hotels. Other cheaper accommodation options are also plentiful in the surrounding area so finding somewhere to sleep the night should not be a problem whatever your budget.

These hotels, and the Ford Center in Oklahoma City, are located in the middle of downtown, meaning dining and drinking opportunities are never far away (after all, this is basically the beating heart of Oklahoma City). The fashionable area of Bricktown is always a good bet for a night out; its converted warehouses host a barrage of trendy restaurants, bars, and clubs to keep you happy once your Oklahoma Ford Center event has finished.
