Radisson Blu Philadelphia is the result of a $20 million transformation. Throughout the world, hotels in the Radisson Blu family fill distinctive buildings, located in the coolest cities and along the most amazing beaches. Philadelphia, with its historic architecture and so many things to do, was a natural choice for a Radisson Blu location. Officially called the Radisson Blu Warwick Hotel, this is only the third Radisson Blu hotel in the United States. The first is located in downtown Chicago and the second is attached to the Mall of America just outside of Minneapolis. The rest of the Radisson Blu hotels are located in Europe, the Caribbean, and Asia Pacific.
The historic hotel in Philadelphia's Rittenhouse Square neighborhood is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, a nod to its importance. The first guests arrived in 1926, and ever since then, this downtown Philadelphia luxury hotel has been a popular choice for downtown travelers. Easy to reach by public transportation, it's located at 220 South 17th Street, close to the Philadelphia International Airport.
With the transformation from a Radisson to a Radisson Blu property, this hotel has undergone a full transformation, from the lobby to each of the 301 guestrooms. This new decor was created to accent the hotel's history while bringing the signature sophistication of the Blu brand. As soon as you step into the lobby, with its crystal accents and shimmering chandeliers, you'll know you're staying some place special. With the signature guest-satisfaction mantra, the service matches the style for all of the guests.
Radisson Blu Philadelphia Rooms
The guestrooms and suites were redesigned with a eye towards the contemporary. The bulk of the guestrooms, called the superior rooms, feature a king or double bed with a flat-screen TV, always-on WiFi access, and a refrigerator. Guests are treated to upscale bath amenities and a copy of the USA Today newspaper each weekday morning. Upgrades to business class means even more amenities, including in-room espresso makers. Guests also have access to the exclusive Business Lounge, where a complimentary breakfast is served each morning, and extra rewards points in the frequent-stay program. More upgraded rooms are located at the Radisson Blu—executive and deluxe rooms also are available, as are four luxurious suites. If you need any special accommodations, you could contact the hotel in advance to ensure the room will match your needs.
Radisson Blu Philadelphia Suites
Whether they're staying in business class, a suite, or a standard room, guests have access to many services. The upgrade of the property to the Radisson Blu brand brought with it in-room spa services, valet parking, and express laundry. If there's more that guests need, even the latest weather forecast, they can visit the concierge stand and ask away. In addition, the hotel is home to a 2,000-square-foot fitness center with treadmills, weight machines, and other equipment.
When it comes to dining, guests have three choices without leaving the Radisson Blu. The coffee bar serves hot drinks and pastries all day, and the tavern is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. It features a bar with craft brews and happy hour, too. For more elegant dining, the Radisson Blu's steak restaurant opens at 5 p.m. Each day. It was designed in the manner of an old Manhattan supper club, where the drinks, live music, and good food delight. The hotel offers easy access to some of Philly's best restaurants, all within walking distance.
