Sands Bethworks

NOTE: The Sands Bethworks Casino is not currently open. It is slated to open in 2009.

The Philadelphia casinos are helping to make the nation’s fourth largest city a more attractive vacation destination than it already is. The Sands Bethworks Casino is the newest addition to the list of casinos in the City of Brotherly Love, and if you enjoy gaming action, then you won’t want to miss this when in town. Built in two separate stages, Sands Bethworks is easily one of the largest casinos in all of Pennsylvania, and you can expect more than just casino floors here. The Sands Bethworks Hotels provide a most agreeable selection of accommodations, and with more than 1,000 loft apartments, local residents can enjoy a riverfront location with a lot going on. The Las Vegas Sands Corporation, which is the company in charge of the Sands Bethworks complex, is even going as far as to introduce a National Museum of Industrial History. This museum, which is headed by the local ArtsQuest Foundation, is intended to honor American industry as well as the Bethlehem Steel company, which once called the same plot of land home.

The Sands Bethworks Hotels feature no less than 300 comfortable rooms. The Sands Bethworks Hotels aim to provide some of the best Philadelphia accommodations for guests to enjoy, so even if you aren’t in town to gamble you can still consider staying here. If you are in town to enjoy the Sands Bethworks Casino, then staying at one of the Sands Bethworks Hotels will be convenient. Aside from the 300-room hotel, there is the Marina Bay Sands complex offering a mind-boggling 2,500 rooms.

As for the Sands Bethworks Casino itself, no less than 3,000 slot machines are available to visitors, not to mention a range of entertainment and dining possibilities. In addition to the aforementioned museum, the first stage of development also reveals a culturally-rich arts center and a broadcast base for the local PBS branch. The second stage of development at the Sands Bethworks Casino and Resort brings another interesting museum, as well as more than one million square feet of convention and meeting space. In other words, this place is pretty spectacular.

Speaking of spectacular, the Sands Bethworks Hotels and Casino complex employs an impressive number of people. The casino’s owners hope that their project is a model for other urban areas that might be looking to increase business- and tourism-related profits. Some 1,000 employees are needed at the 3,000 slot-machine Sands Bethworks casino alone, with another 800 workers making sure things go smoothly at the adjacent shopping complex. In addition to all this, the complex is also home to restaurants, a parking garage, and a concert hall. Sands Bethworks offers a taste of Las Vegas for those Philadelphia residents and visitors who are interested in such an atmosphere. Adding the Sands Bethworks Casino experience to your list of Philadelphia things to do should only help to keep things more interesting, and you can bet that the accommodations here will find their place among the top Philadelphia hotels.
