Cheap Rhode Island Hotels

Finding cheap Rhode Island hotels in the state's top vacation destinations can be a task, especially during the peak travel season. Rhode Island's peak travel season runs from mid-May to mid-October, and hotel rates across the land increase significantly during this period. July and August are the most difficult months when it comes to finding Rhode Island hotel deals. There are ways to keep your lodging costs down during these months, however, which is good news if you are looking to save your money for tours and things the like. Booking a stay at discount hotels or motels that are found just outside of the main tourist destinations is one of the best ways to secure Rhode Island hotel deals. Since the state is so small, you'll enjoy a good location wherever you choose to stay.

Providence is the largest city in Rhode Island, and it is also the state capital. While it can be difficult to find cheap Rhode Island hotels in the capital city, looking north to Woonsocket or south to Warwick will award you with lower rates. The Woonsocket hotels are priced lower than the Providence hotels, as are the Warwick hotels, and both of these cities are hardly far away from the capital. It's just 16 miles to Woonsocket, for example, and just 10 miles to Warwick. In downtown Woonsocket, the Woonsocket Motor Inn does well to offer a discount lodging option that is both safe and dependable. While the rooms at the Woonsocket Motor Inn are pretty basic when it comes to decor and furnishings, they offer some pretty good amenities considering the low rates. Satellite cable TV, air-conditioning, a telephone, and free wireless internet access are offered in each guest room here, which is all that some visitors will need. Since the Woonsocket hotels are few in number, you can even look just outside of Woonsocket if you are looking for cheap Rhode Island motels. In nearby Smithfield, for example, the Hilltop Inn offers a discount lodging option that you will do well to consider. It's hardly a long drive to downtown Woonsocket from the Hilltop Inn, and you can also get to Providence in virtually no time at all.

As for the Warwick hotels, they too feature some of the lowest rates in the Providence area. All of the Warwick hotels are essentially airport hotels, as it is here where you will find the state's main airport. The Extended Stay America and the Comfort Inn Airport are two Warwick hotels that offer good rooms at a good price, so you might add them to your list of cheap Rhode Island hotels near the capital. The La Quinta Inn and Suites and the Best Western Airport Inn are two more discount hotels in Warwick worth giving a second look. All of these hotels offer good rates and ample facilities, so you will hardly be roughing it. At the Best Western Airport Inn, for example, standard in-room amenities include satellite cable TV, free local calls, air conditioning, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer, complimentary high-speed internet access, a coffee maker, and an alarm clock radio. A complimentary continental breakfast is also included in the rates, and the hotel features a 24-hour front desk and a fitness room among its facilities.

The city of Newport is another top Rhode Island vacation destination, and while the bulk of the Newport hotels are relatively expensive, you can look due north to Middletown to find some cheap Rhode Island motels. There is also a Motel 6 that is a little closer to the downtown area. One of the best cheap Rhode Island motels north of Newport is the Rodeway Inn and Suites, which offers an array of free perks to enhance your stay. A complimentary continental breakfast, free high-speed internet access, a free newspaper, free local calls, and all the free coffee that you can drink are among the perks. Since most of the cheap Rhode Island motels and hotels offer like amenities, they are hard to top when it comes to overall value.

Staying at one of the cheap Rhode Island motels or hotels allows you to save your money for things like area attractions and tours, and they are utterly ideal if you are plan on spending little time in your room. When you stay at a discount motel just north of Newport, for example, you can apply your savings to things like tours of The Breakers or enchanting dining experiences in the Newport Waterfront district. Should you look to the cheaper Westerly hotels when looking to spend time on the beach in Misquamicut, you can use the money that you save on rates to book a round of golf or to arrange a chartered fishing excursion, among other things. As mentioned earlier, finding Rhode Island hotel deals is harder during the peak summer season, so you might look to visit the state in the spring, fall, or winter.
